I have arrived here and want to get married now. Is it possible for everything to be completed in only a few days or will it simply not be legal? This would be done through the humanist society of scotland, we have documents showing no legal-impediment, but arrived here without a VISA and want to do this right away.

I am only staying for 2 weeks. I have arranged a ceremony. Does this hold any legality if I didn't get a visa?

No, Fiance's visas are issued in the country you are from by the US Embassy, or the embassy of the country you are going to. One of the worst things you can do is get married. Then you get to go home and apply for a visa like everyone else.

I would suggest you go home and get the Fiancee Visa. Then when you are married you can stay!

I would ask an attorney that deals with these issues!

If she is exercising her treaty rights to live and work in the UK, then she is resident. She is living there, isn't she? You would need an EEA family permit. They are easier to obtain than UK visa's. I however do not know if they issue fiance visa's or not.
