Don't get me started on this one, I just hope my kids will be at the top of any lists when they come up to finding homes as the poor things will never afford to buy homes in this day and age.

So that means, what, an absolute maximum of 2500 immigrants housed a year, assuming we're in the business of packing the houses right out sweatshop-style?
How many down-on-their-luck brits get housed on the social again? Oh, that's right, lots more. Which is why we have portions of entire cities that are packed out with estates.
And if you're being housed, then you're here legally. Which means that when you're housed, you can look for work, and pay tax, and buy your house. Social housing is an investment, not a cash sink.

Don't think the councils can afford to do this - they're all to busy just now spending the council tax on housing asylum seekers and immigrants. It's grossly unfair to the indigenous population who've been waiting for DECENT houses for years only for people to arrive from abroad and walk straight into them.
And before the PC brigade jump on me - I KNOW lots of the immigrants are working here and paying taxes. It does NOT give the local councils the right to put them to the head of the housing queue. This is one of the things that's turning Brits against immigrants/asylum seekers.
There will be plenty of new homes built - only problem is they probably won't be for the ordinary people.

you miss understood this mate. this is for the people those are in shleters awaiting asylum. so government is planning to let only 200 asylem seekers in this country. but current ration is too high. so government planned to give them housing and better living. rather then having 2 million a year it is better to have only 200 a year and treat all equal. so they will provide them 200 houses as well.
we are definiatly safe as every council has there own budgets to spend on the area and housing. if your council is messing around you have legal right to ask them where they spending the money. and if it is not justified then you can grab them to the court. as simple as that.
hope it helps. many thanx.

I think it was a lot more than that. Did you see where five coaches per day come into Victoria from Poland. They also said that one person per second was entering the UK. The mind boggles, but it seems that they will be likely to get housed before a british national

Lets just hope other countries where the Brits have emigrated to don't send them back here where they belong.
We would never house all of them.
