We heard the same promise back in 1986 from senators like Ted Kennedy, they didn't keep their promise then of securing the border, they're not going to keep their promise this time either, along with habitual liers like George W Bush and John McCain they will try again to pass this insane bill

It seems all the chicken littles have lost their fear of terrorists and especially the Americans who always blame Canada for being too liberal..now all of a sudden it is ok to give away the most important document you will ever obtain....maybe Walmart can handle the distribution for an every day low price.

I can't believe this guy. He's urging senators to try and revive the bill to force amnesty upon us.

How many are protesting the series because of this outrageous maneuver, when we know there are perfectly qualified all-American hitmen that could have done the same job?

illegal or legal immigration still affects the goals of the working Americans. End all forms of immigration because of oversaturation with immigarants in general since the early 1990s.

they should not be imployed, housed , given free health service, nothing. Then it would be no better than their own countrys for them over here and that might stop them bothering to come.

In my opinion it is the politicians who REFUSE to fund the Border Control and ICE agents so they can't do their job like they need to.

I was born in Peru to Peruvian parents. I came to this great country when I was young. My father wanted us to have a better future and knew that the US would give us this.

When I turn 18 years of age, I became the first of my family to become an America Citizen. I did not appreicate this great country until I went back to Peru and saw poverty and an a corrupted government that keep them poor. I understand why so many are willing to risk their lives to come to this great country so they can give their family a better future.

What I don't understand is why are those who are illegal have a flippen attitude toward the very country that give them hope. And why do they show such loyality to a country that turn their backs on them.

And most of all, why are they not teaching their children how bless they are to live in this great country and how important it is to show their love for the US by saluted the flag, learning the language & cuture, and most of all, becoming a proud America

I do and I asked the lady running the course how other people felt about it. I was suprised to hear her say that no one dislikes it more than the ethnic minorities.
Is this true?

With so many Polish workers, we have a generation of dual nationality births now. Will we have a new category on all those official forms?

What are your suggestions?

If the laws we currently have on the books were enforced, such as punishing employers that knowingly hire illegals, such as building the fence that the money has already been allocated for, such as immediate deportation of all illegals that enter the judicial system, etc the illegal immigration would slow to a trickle because it would make it almost intolerable to be an illegal immigrant. Everyone needs to keep up the pressure on their senators to stop this disaster,it was your input that killed the "reform" bill, your input could also force stepped up enforcement of current law if you keep the pressure on.

i hear lots of whinning, huh they broke our laws, they are criminals. who cares get a life, the government just does that so people wont focus on the war in iraq and how many people bush is sending to kill. bush rather have all people focus more on illegals than the war and how much damage he is doing, like gas prices and soldiers dyeing. Also think on how the world is by global warming, you never know when the world might end, we are not forever, try and make it worth it and live a happy life and do good things and love one another. open your eyes. why be racist and getting mad about stuff that is not our problem, leave it to the u.s border patrols thats their job.

*peace*

"LAS CRUCES — Congressman Steve Pearce said Friday a national debate on immigration reform has become so divisive, lawmakers for now should focus on just one of three aspects of immigration reform: controlling the border.

"The thing we're hearing most (from constituents) is: 'Just enforce the laws you've got on the books,'" said Pearce, a Republican whose district covers southern New Mexico. "The deep-rooted anger appears to be from that. ... If we started enforcing the law, the anger would dissipate."

What do my American peers think those people in DC should do? Does anyone of you have ideas? Good Ones (not ignorant 4th grade ideas).
But you can't use the following. . . .
1- Deport them all (not possible)
2- Send them to Iraq (someone said that somewhere)

And that's all I coud think of..

OK come on, these people are not going anywhere, you can't deport them.
Let's stay smart here when answering, ok?

Did you know that people coming from countries in places like Africa who are fleeing torture at home, often jump aboard a ship to come to the US? Maybe you did know that, but did you know that if a ship docks at a US port and a stowaway is found, the ship has to pay a huge fine to the US goverment? So, it might not come as a surprise that if the stowaway is discovered on the sea, it is common for them to be tossed off the ship?

What do you think about that?
