Actually, I've worked with many Mexicans, both legal and illegal. I've found all of them to be hard workers, and high achievers.
I remember one Mexican family that had all 4 of their teenagers working at the restaurant I worked at. All were good students, and 2 were in college. Great people.

Well I have gone to school with Mexicans and I have a few Mexicans as friends also. We disagree about the whole immigration issue. I believe strongly that if your not a citizen or not visiting you should leave America. Actually I don't need any research on how Americans feel about this issue because I'm American . And I know about the resources Mexicans give but does that give you guys the right to come in our country, run up our money, taking the free services that we provide for our American citizens. If you want to live in America then wait in line and do it the right way. I live in Boston, Massachusetts, USA and I attend Harvard University I meet alot of Mexicans that have came the right way to America. Don't get me wrong I know what most Mexicans goals are a better life but when they come here illegally then there not doing the right thing.
When you ask me how I feel about Mexicans in general my answer is that most want a better life but are not coming the right way. Some don't understand that they are taking resources that Americans that need the resources don't get them because a illegal immigrant has taken them away which is being selfish. If you want to discuss how we feel about Mexicans I will be happy to do that via email.

I feel about Mexicans as I feel about any other group - neither better nor worse. They're people like anyone else. I really like good Mexican food and I like good Mariachi music and Salsa.
However, I'm really upset with the Mexican government as they are filled with too many inept or self-serving, corrupt officials who do little or NOTHING for their citizens. THAT'S why we have the problem with illegal immigration because for too many years the Mexican government has not stepped up to the plate to improve their infrastructure to provide better economic conditions and more and better services for their citizens. If they did this, Mexicans would stay in Mexico. President Bush should DEMAND that the Mexican government take care of their citizens by DEMANDING timetables for improvement. These timetables could be attached to loans, imports, etc. as an incentive for them to complete these requirements in a timely fashion. This MUST be done before any Guest Worker program is agreed to.
Mexico is sitting on a lot of oil and they have a very wealthy group of citizens at the top of the pyramid. There is no reason that they couldn't improve their economy if they all worked together instead of simply trying to see how much they can steal for themselves.

Our favorite restaurant is Mexican and the owners/operators are young men from south of the border, who work very hard, are very courteous, and make wonderful food. The license to serve food is on the wall in a frame as well as their inspection certificates.
I do not however appreciate the others who come here, get food stamps, welfare, free medical, housing assistance, and refuse to learn our language. I cannot get any help at all, yet I can pay taxes so the uninvited can continue their mooching. Those who come here and start legitimate businesses pay taxes as well, and I believe their patience is also running thin.

>> Of the Mexicans I have met personally, the men seem to be very nice and hard workers. I used to work with about 10 Mexican men in a restaurant years ago and liked them all very much. I have only met one Mexican woman that I have had any respect for and I really like her a lot. I have worked with many Mexican women over the years and have found them to typically be very combative, malicious and trouble makers. Of the Mexicans I have never met, this constant marching in the streets by illegal aliens carrying the Mexican flag makes me NOT LIKE THEM AT ALL.

I am Mexican American and I like Mexicans both legal or not, they are only humans too you know. But I like the Mexican culture even though I am an American type becuase I was born in Chicago under not so much Latin culture. Mexico is a great country, so much history and culture, great friendly people.
It's what people say about illegals that make the Mexican people look really bad. It's not the illegals, it is the ignorant people who give them a bad name.

I have no problem with Mexicans at all. And I know there have been significant contributions by those of Mexican nationality both here in the US and around the world. But that is not why I oppose illegal immigrants. The Mexican/us border is the one where we have people walking/riding/swiming across illegally and not paying attention to any of our immigration laws. If this was a border with Italy I still would be opposed to the illegal imigration that is costing us dearly and helping to wreck our economy and threatining our national security. And since I am part Italian I know of their contributions to the world also. I just want people to come here legally and not be given rights just because now we decide we will forgive them for the laws they violate. It is not because we americans hate or think of mexicans as inferior it is because it is ILLEGAL!!!

I have no problems with Mexicans. I am having a problem with the illegal ones though, as well as the the other illegals in our country. I do know a man who came here illegally as a child but has since become a citizen and he is a very smart, loving, caring individual that I have a great deal of respect for, so it is not the fact that most of the illegals are Mexican. It's that they are illegal and causing us a great deal of economical strain.

I feel the same way about our Mexican neighbors as I do about anyone else. They have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I have traveled throughout Mexico for over 50 years and have found the Mexican people to be friendly and affable. I have also watch several totally corrupt governments take office in that country, rob the treasury and exile to Spain.
People who have "suddenly" become aware of the immigration from our southern border are too young or to dumb to know that border crossing - legal or illegal - has been going on since the end of the last war with Mexico....and it alway will - with our governments blessing. Big business depends upon the cheap labor force and our government is not inclined to upset that apple cart.
If you want to get really, really mad at someone, go find a drunk driver - they kill over 18,000 of our citizens every year; men, women and children. Go protest the Iraqi war that has killed over 3500 of our own people and almost 1 million Iraqis. Sit on Bushes doorstep and protest the 2 1/2 BILLION dollars a day that we borrow from other countries - many of them countries that have nothing but ill will towards us.
But, leave the Mexicans alone. They want to work. They want to escape their corrupt government and try to make a life for their families. This is a nation of immigrants..legal and otherwise. You are an immigrant - or your parents or grandparents were.

For some the problem is two fold, the first are the legal immigrates, we welcome immigrations from all over the world, what we are unhappy about is when the immigrates try to remake our country to serve their needs, and want to transport their flags, language, and then tell us their ways are superior to ours. The second part is about illegals, that want to do the same, and want us to pay for their American dream in the tune of millions of dollars. Then they insult us by calling us fat and lazy, and telling us they are only doing jobs that we won't do. There are no jobs that Americans have not done or are not doing now.
