When I talk about amnesty, they say 'what about the costs?'
When I talk about the costs, they say 'but they're not loyal to America!
When I talk about them demonstrating (like loyal citizens do in accordance with their Constitutional rights) to get legalized, people complain 'but they're unwilling to learn English'!
When I talk about how their kids almost all learn English, they say 'but they're illegal'!

Try to pin them down on one issue and they pop up with the next issue. Just because the issues are interrelated does NOT make it acceptable to hide behind the unmentioned ones when you're about to get hit.

Im an american citizen.. born and raised... Family has been here about 3 hundred years. I can't believe how passionate people are against starting a process that will give Illegals the opportunity to become citizens... People are sreaming "AMNESTY"... give me a break.. its a bs word for the uneducated... no proposal currently being reviewed by the house resembles the word. There are punative measures in place which deals with their illegal entry... not a free pass. Bottom line, IMPOSSIBLE TO SEND EVERYONE BACK... NEED TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUE AND LET DECENT HUMAN BEINGS SEEKING A BETTER LIFE OBTAIN STATUS.. use the punative dollars (finance them if you have to... not our taxes) to secure the borders. Unregistered illegals will be easier to find.. INS wont be so swamped. People have no idea what they are talking about... Maybe we should deport all citizens in the US who have a problem with how this country was originally populated... maybe the Native Americans should kick our *** out...

The President addresses latinos while the Senate wants to keep secrets?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The morning after Senate leaders had revived his immigration reform bill, which a week ago appeared stalled, President Bush spoke to the Latino group Esperanza -- "hope" in Spanish.

"I continue to work closely with members of both parties to get past our differences and pass a bill I can sign this year," the president said at Esperanza's annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast.

Democrats and Republicans hope to keep details of the amendments from the public until the debate begins, a Republican senator said.

If so, should we send our military into Mexico to secure an area of land so we can relocate the invaders there?

And instead of allowing Mexican trucks entrance into the US, shouldn't we use the secured are in Mexico as a kind of "free trade zone" where goods from Mexico can be transferred to US carriers and stuff from the US to Mexican carriers?

It would create an industry for the relocated invaders.

Plus, we could expand the area if Mexico fails to re-absorb their own people back into Mexico. Or we could shrink the area if Mexico cooperates by absorbing back their own people.

Did you understand the questions? Do you think it's a good idea?

It seems like they all follow the same pattern, like they went to school to be illegal & how to go about it. Go across, get lost in the crowd, look for a greedy person that will hire you for next to nothing, because the gov. will supply you with all your needs. How else could they be so successful.

Yes I know that most of us Americans had family who immagrated to america, But our families came here, learned the language and got jobs. Never had taxpayers support them. We are the ones that have the right to be here. Either do it right or leave. You are bringing this country down. You have your own they can support you. If they cant get off your lazy A** and get a job.

I have come to the conclusion that most of you who take up all your time on this issue are either racist, or enjoy finding ways of channeling your hatred towards a minority of people.

If you want to get mad about the real threat, you should be talking about the HB 1 visa debate.

Americans are losing their tech jobs, teaching jobs and nursing jobs.

Since this issue is not of interest to some of you who continually spout racist remarks, then maybe these jobs don't apply to you.

If you don't know the issues, you should be informed:

I'm from Mexican decent though both of my parents were born in the U.S. I've been here all my life. America is my home, period. I don't speak much spanish but I can understand some.

I live in TX (there are many mexican immigrants here whether they're illegal or not, I don't know). Sometimes I'll be approached and spoken to in spanish. I'll have to explain I know very little of the language. Their response to this is usually digust, as if I insulted them. I'll get *nasty* looks and bitter-sounding remarks. Usually translating to 'Why don't you speak spanish?'. With such *venom* and *ugliness*. Asking extremely personal questions about me
I've never once walked up to one of them and asked 'Why don't you speak english?'. I think that'd be very rude of me which is why I'd never ask. I think they're reaction is very rude of them. Am I wrong?

They're free to be proud of their heritage but shouldn't they try to adapt/incorporate what america is about into their lives as well?

Chia-Duran. Chia-Duran, a native of Mexico, is accused of molesting an 8-month-old girl. When the girl was brought to Southern Regional Medical Center, on Dec. 25, she had 30 bruises on her body, her ribs, vertebrae and skull were fractured, leaving her paralyzed. She had blood in her diaper, her brain was bleeding, and physical evidence suggested she had been molested.

Turner said about 100 pages of single-spaced medical records, verified by more than five doctors, is “unrefutable” evidence against Chia-Duran. Chia-Duran faces a possible maximum sentence of 60 years in prison.

Turner argued there was no evidence of “harm or prejudice,” because Chia-Duran wasn’t told of his right to seek help from the Mexican consulate, and the detectives had no way of knowing the man wasn’t an American citizen.

“He didn’t tell police he was a foreign national,” Turner said. “The police dealt with him they way they would with any citizen.”

Personally, I am past the point of caring what people call me. I believe what I believe and that's it. I don't believe in giving amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. Many of my neighbors are being forced to move because we are being squeezed out. I am thinking about moving too. My neighborhood used to be nice, now I have seen hispanic gang members walking down the street. My truck was stolen from in front of my house recently.

Also, I'm so sick of people using the race card. Race has nothing to do with it, but yes, while there are illegals of many different nationalities, we all know for sure that a majority in mass numbers are hispanics. Is the "race agenda" just a method of pointing fingers at opposers while diverting attention away from the real truth?

3/4 of the people that immigrate here legally do it because they have family here. 1/4 do it because they are able to invest $1,000,000,000 into the economy. Some do it by winning the green card lottery(50,000year). Now, other than that there is no way to immigrate here legally. You cant just apply and expect to be approved because IT WONT HAPPEN. So the so called proud people that emigrated here legally were lucky because they had family here. If they didnt, they would sneak across the border or overstay their visa and be illegal. So dont say that there is a way to be legal here, because unless you are rich or have family here or win the lottery(millions of applicants - 50K winners) there is no way.

Ok, This is a touchy subject but it needs to be touched. I live in Northern California. Lately almost every customer I help doesn't speak any English at all. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the ones that try and they want to learn, but some don't want to learn English and I believe that the lack of communication divides us. We shouldn't have special signs that are in spanish, because what about all the vietnamese, indian, japanese, german......Etc. that can't speak any english. Why don't they have signs as well. And if you can't read English, how do you know what street signs mean? I think that if you live in this country or any other country, you should at least try to speak the native tongue and become a citizen. That all I have to say.

George Carlin's Solution to Save Gasoline

Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use.The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas.The price of gas would come down.Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq.Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military.Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.Problem solved.
