If so, should we send our military into Mexico to secure an area of land so we can relocate the invaders there?

And instead of allowing Mexican trucks entrance into the US, shouldn't we use the secured are in Mexico as a kind of "free trade zone" where goods from Mexico can be transferred to US carriers and stuff from the US to Mexican carriers?

It would create an industry for the relocated invaders.

Plus, we could expand the area if Mexico fails to re-absorb their own people back into Mexico. Or we could shrink the area if Mexico cooperates by absorbing back their own people.

Did you understand the questions? Do you think it's a good idea?

Yes I understand the question and partly agree with your solution. But as sensible as it is those who make the rules won't follow any of your plan. Yes in a lot of ways you can call it an invasion. As simple minded as I am I can't understand why our leaders all of a sudden think that something MUST be done NOW. Why does this amnisty bill have to be pushed through behind closed doors in secluded cigar smoke filled rooms rather than go about it as they usually do with open debate with out such a sense of urgency. If I was a conspiracy junky I could come up with all kinds of senarios for this one. I'm for securing the border first. Then slowly and methodically deport the less desirables you know the ones who have commited crimes here. Allow the others work permits but certainly not reward them for commiting a crime and grant them legal status.Another words use the laws we already have on the books. In the bill they say they can amazingly evaluate all 12 to 20 million in a few days but can't get less then a 10th of that number( legal citizens) their passports in 6 months. Just another case of a governent that has grown too large to be compitent in anything. No on amnisty!!!

Comparing immigrants of 100+ years ago with the problems of illegal immigration today is an obtuse argument.

Do I consider the influx of illegal immigrants an invasion? Of course not.

Do I think that entering our country in a method defiant with our immigration laws is a problem? Yes.

Do I think our current laws are not only insufficient, but unenforceable? Yes.

Do I think that the current immigration bill supported by Decider Commander Guy and Ted Kennedy is the solution? Not entirely.

Do I think your military and DMZ idea is a good one? No.

Face it, it's a dilemma with no easy solution. We have a workforce issue now... it's been going on too long. We are dependent upon the population of illegal immigrants. If we undo this blunder, it will create economic backlash. Perhaps that's for the best... clean house and straighten up? Perhaps it would be devastating to certain industries, at least in the short term. Perhaps the system for accepting legal immigrants should be improved, and some palpable incentive for illegal immigrants to rectify their un-status should be in place.

With the security concerns of our open border policy at their peak, I don't think handing over amnesty will solve our problem, but if we don't put a great deal of money into our current system, there will be no incentive for anything to change.

Hows this plan for immagration.?
Deport all illegals immediately including any offspring that they conceived while here illegally. If one parent was a legal citizen then they may appeal the deportation of the child if they can prove a means of support. Close all borders......then allow entry only to those sponsored by a US citizen that can prove that they will have employment and a place to stay with total support none of which will be taxpayer funded. All admitted would additionally have to pass all exams and screenings. For those that had been here without paying taxes a requirement to pay in full the amount owed within a certain time frame with no unreasonable penalties. My Grandparents were imagrants....they came here legaly, were gainfuly employed, paid taxes, supported themselves and family completly without any social programs, lived by the law of the land and helped to bring other realitives over as they could. This is how America was built and it is the way it should remain!

If the depoties had established ownership of a bussiness illeagely during their "visit" then that bussiness would be placed in the hands of a mediator whom could either sell it to pay debts owed or negotiate a means of operating it as an absente owner until re-entry has been approved.

Yes I do beleive it's an invasion. I can't think of another word to call it. They are having battles at the border to get in here and to press on with the drug trade and all. The only thing that makes it not an invasion is our government calling it something else...."influx of undocumented workers". Maybe just party goers "crashing" a party. Anything but what it is.

I'm game for any reasonable plan. I just know this is unacceptable.

No, it is not an invasion. The hysteria about todays immigrants isn't even close to the hysteria about immigrants at the turn of the last century. There was so much fear that the doors to immigration were slammed shut and not opened again until the 1960's. The fear and hatred being stirred up the right wing conservative Republicans is a shame. America only grows stronger through immigration, not weaker.

You suck terribly at coherence and cohesion in your writing. No, I do not consider the influx of workers this nation demands for its diverse economies an invasion, but rather an invited act on the part of this country. You should take a writing class on semantics and syntax. It is not an illegal act if you create the conditions for the influx of people and employers seek and continued the trend of hiring undocumented workers.

Im an american citizen.. born and raised... I can't believe how passionate people are against legalizing the illegals... THERE IS NO REGULATION... THERE IS NOTHING... People are screaming "AMNESTY"... give me a break... its a bs word for the uneducated... no proposal currently being reviewed resembles the word. IMPOSSIBLE TO SEND EVERYONE BACK... NEED TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUE AND LET DECENT HUMAN BEINGS SEEKING A BETTER LIFE obtain status. People have no idea what they are talking about... Maybe we should deport all citizens in the US who have a problem with how this country was originally populated... maybe the Native Americans should kick our *** out...

Your funny... If the US gov want to make them legal, do you think that they have no reasons to do it?? Of course they have one, and they will never really care to close down their border with Mexico, as long as they need them pourring in the US to provide cheap labor to your business and allow the acceptation of the North American Union... Without Mexicans there, no Americans will support this union, and since the US needs it to confront the Asian influences in the next decades, they must prepare the population of the US for this event, and such preparation include allowing a lot of Mexicans moving to the US with a right to vote...

It's not really an invasion. It is a total lack of willingness of the govt to enforce the border. This is the govt's way of raising immigration without passing laws and thus bypassing the will of the American people.

It is an invasion because once they move into an area, it is overtaken by them and turned into little tijuanas. From the first moment you hear that boom boom carnival sounding music down your street, you know its over. Instead of tolerating it, us other Americans move away from these people. Well theres only soo much we can move. Its time to stop them from taking over our neighborhoods. Illegals produce gang members for some reason.
