(that aren't in politics) are young, uneducated about what amnesty will do to our society, and have never had to support a family and pay taxes?

My opinion is: No.

Some believe the U.S. stole California from Mexico. So let's get all the industries and money out, and the LEGAL immigrants (the dozens I know will do ANYTHING BUT live under the Mexican government).

The Logic: Illegals come to US for $. US has $ because it is functional. It's functional because of LAW (constitution), higher education, and all that results from those things (inventions, patents, etc.)

Illegals get a better life by denouncing any allegiance to LAW.
No law =no functionality=No $. When there's no money, no illegals.

Those denouncing LAW for short term gain will first destroy the culture and society of Law. As a result they will witness the collapse of the economy that LAW built.

*******If it's not true, come legally.*******

Texas grew by 270,000 in five years, and an estimated 70 percent of the 26,000 births at Houston and Dallas public hospitals in 2005 were to mothers who are undocumented immigrants. Unreimbursed care cost the Harris County Hospital District $97 million in 2005.
"If we do nothing, in 10 years, just based on the current birth rate, we're going to have 50 million (illegal immigrants and their children) in the United States. Our country will change totally. Our culture will be gone," said state Rep. Leo Berman, R-Tyler. "We've been invaded without firing a shot." http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4440332.html

Break in their house and steal $ 1500. dollars worth of food and clothing? Cause that's what they cost every legal tax payer a year. Would that be fair? I'm hungry...I need new clothes...My truck needs gas. I don't get paid for a week.

Or have someone in their family who is illegal? Many deny it,but it seems like there is an agenda. This is why they respond so bitterly. Or play the race card. Seems very desperate.

Why 90% of the anti-immigrants racists (that pretend that are not) don't allow e-mail communication? What are you afraid of? Debate for you is like Fox News' interviews: only one side speaks?

My e-mail is open to anyone, enjoy it.

Are you tired of their hypocricy when they try and tell the US how to treat illegals that come here? I know I am. They need to be told to shut up and take care of their problems instead of dumping them on us.

"Some of the worst abuses take place on the coffee plantations of Chiapas state, where some 40,000 Guatemalan field hands endure backbreaking jobs and squalid living conditions to earn roughly $3.50 a day. Some growers even deduct the cost of room and board from that amount. "If you ask them, 'Why are you bringing in Guatemalans to work?' they say, 'You can't depend on Mexicans. They don't work hard; they're irresponsible'," says George Grayson, a political scientist specializing in Mexico at the College of William & Mary. "The truth is, you can pay [the guest workers] a pittance. And if they cause the slightest disturbance, you can send them back to Guatemala."

I am a conservative yet disagree with the conservative view on one key issue: illegal immigration. Illegal immagrants serve as a cheap and productive source of labor that we need. The american job market has almost twice as many possible jobs as potential employees, thus, illegal immagrants could serve the work force. my question is: Why do you want illegal immagrants deported.

One more thing: If you loose your job to someone who can hardly speak english and probably doesn't have much of an education, don't you deserve to loose that job? After all when was the last time that a doctor or vice president was replaced by an illegal immigrant.

Before you talk about legality please remember that US citizenship costs well over $400(american) per person and the average family income for a family of 7 or more in Mexico is $5000(american) per year.

I recenlty traveled to mexico city ....possibly the largest city in the world ( 25 million) . The people I met were like most people in the usa..they work , they buy homes, they raise famillies, they are religious , they are political ...and most interesting they did not express any great interest in immigrating to america. Although poverty is very evident, it is clear to me why a poor person would want to come to the usa to improve his/her life and their families.
In fact, that is exaclty why people came here in the first place...And that is why we fought a revolution....Poverty creates crisis..crime..& .revolution...Is a fence the right answer to this perplexing question?

i haven't checked this out myself yet but my dad was just telling me that there's a bill in process of being passed that will allow immigrants who were illegal and then become legal to qualify for ss benefits 18 months after becoming legal. if this is true i don't think that's fair. there will be no ss left for the people in my generation already, why would they get benefits, especially that soon? what do you think?

They are just doing the work no American wants to do (for $3.00 an hour that is); they are just escaping poverty (should we let in all the rest of the third world too?); other than breaking one set of laws they are productive citizens who contribute to our economy (as are prostitutes and drug dealers, who are at least citizens and spend their money locally), and so on. But this issue really boils down to one thing: are we a nation of laws or aren't we? The rule of law is the great prerequisite for democracy. Nothing kills freedom faster than corruption.

If my husband is approved for a temporary green card before our 2nd anniversary will he have to wait for the permanent and if he is approved after our 2nd anniversary will he get his permanent and skip the temporary or do you have to get the temporary first, wait two years, and then get his permanent? I am confused our lawyer is telling us that if we get approved before our anniversary he will get his temporary and have to wait two years and immigration is telling me that he has to get the temporary first regardless. Thank You.

I am a British citizen currently in the US on a 3 month visa (visa waiver, valid another month). I want to stay here but know I cannot extend the visa waiver, I have to leave the US and return. I know I have to return to my country of origin (UK), but does anyone know how long I have to stay in the UK for before I can return here to the States? Will a week be enough? Will it be difficult for me to re-enter the States?

BEWARE U.S. CITIZENS: The U.S. has on it's new agenda to pay all ILLEGAL immigrants social security benefits after working only 18 MONTHS in the U.S. Even if they are using illegal S.S. numbers.

We all need to pay attention to this, know who is pushing it, and get involved.

Social Security is broken now and people paying so much into this today will never see a cent of it.

Davidson County sheriff's deputies will begin checking the immigration status of every foreign-born person who passes though the Metro Jail under a new program, department officials announced today. The approval, announced today, comes in response to a request by Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement bureau, seeking a federal immigration computer system and full-time immigration officer placed in the county jail.

Metro police Chief Ronal Serpas and Gov. Phil Bredesen have voiced support for the program.

Hall's request comes after several high-profile crimes after which illegal immigrants were charged. In some cases, the immigrants had been arrested repeatedly in the midstate, without being processed through the federal immigration system.

Nashville's program is patterned after a similar effort in Charlotte, N.C. That city's program has been praised by the sheriff there and by some local officials. It has also raised questions, however, about whether zealous police officers are improperly targeting immigrants and whether federal authorities can handle the increased number of detainees.

The next step in the process for Davidson County's program, calls for federal and local officials to negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding. No date has been announced for the negotiations.

Although her VISA is from 11 Aug.06 to 11 Feb.07 she arrives in UK on Nov.06.What I understand is, you can Enter UK WITHIN that period and the 6 months starts when you actually landed British soil. Will somebody clarify this, please. Does she need to Apply for VISA Extension to stay beyond 11 Feb.07, if is so, where to get an Application Form, where to SEND/Apply, etc?

The cost jumps to over a billion a year if you include county jails. Those illegal aliens are in prison because they committed crimes. The amount listed does not include court costs.

Seems like this could be a new reason for illegal
s organisms to come here? This would be/could be called immigration due to refugee status?
I'm concerned, this could be a problem!
I suppose this would allow us to go in and take over Mexico as they had been overtaken by Drug King pins. To fix Mexico and give it back to the Mexcians. Kinda like we are doing in Iraq, Right?
