They are just doing the work no American wants to do (for $3.00 an hour that is); they are just escaping poverty (should we let in all the rest of the third world too?); other than breaking one set of laws they are productive citizens who contribute to our economy (as are prostitutes and drug dealers, who are at least citizens and spend their money locally), and so on. But this issue really boils down to one thing: are we a nation of laws or aren't we? The rule of law is the great prerequisite for democracy. Nothing kills freedom faster than corruption.

I agree, and the excuses are tiring.

The people who agree with the excuses are probably blind to the fact that they support the exploitation of foreigners by big business's who use them for slave labor.

The only people who make excuses for them are the liberals and the anti-American left that includes globalists like Bush. People want to believe that a Red-Utopia is the answer for all the worlds problems, that changing American into a Socialist nation will work. Germany was a Socialist nation, it killed 12 million people, Sweden is a socialist’s nation, it can’t defend its own cultural let alone their border. There is no solution to the Red tide that’s sweeping across this nation, only a civil war will end it. Like the Red’s of the USSR American socialists want more ethnic multiculturalism, even though everywhere else in the world where you have a lame squabbling multiethnic group housed in one nation, you eventually have a violent conflict, they want the same peace for America.

If the Immigration issue is a big and important issue for any of you than you must realize that the main benefactor of the illegal immigrants being here are obviously the immigrants, but more importantly the BIG CORPORATIONS of this country that employ these workers for less than minimum wage and provide no benefits. These corporations are able to keep their costs down and, thus, maximize their profit margins.

The way to really implement change in this area is to "not vote" with the BIG CORPORATIONS. The big corporations funnel millions of dollars into lobbying efforts to ensure that the immigrants can stay and continue to provide a source of cheap labor. Therefore, who are the BIG CORPORATIONS voting for and supporting with millions of dollars in campiagn contributions. The answer is the Republicans. The BIG CORPORATIONS are in bed with the Republicans. So, if you are like me and are sick of the big corporations exploiting these illegal immigrants as a source of cheap labor then lets vote Democratic next election. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

In the first place, the word criminal does not apply. Have you ever had a traffic violation? Does that make you a criminal? No.
Secondly, the people you should go after are the people who hire these labourers at only $3.00 an hour. That is slave labour. And sometimes, in the case of young women, there are other forms of slavery. There, you can talk about criminal behaviour.
Third, the reason people are so desperate to ejnter the USA, Western Europe, and Canada that they are willing to risk their lives, is the absolute poverty they have to endure in their own countries. Why the poverty? Well, some of the blame falls on their countries' leaders. However some of it, much of it, is caused by us Canadians, you Americans, and the Europeans. We are holding those countries by their throats, forcing them to cough up interest they've paid several times over, on past loans; we reduce the interest, and debt, on condition that they close up some of their factories and buy only from us. Now, morally, I would use the word criminal there. It is behaviour worthy of the mafia loan sharks. We are the bullies on the block, and when people look for help we call them criminals.

And you talk about corruption!

You can't fix anything that both major political party's won't acknowledge is broke.

The Dem's want 12 million more Dem voters because they are killing a million future voters a year while they are still in the womb.

The Rep's want a nearly endless supply of cheap labor and have accepted their political loss, having realized they couldn't lead an alcoholic into a bar offering free booze. Besides didn't Reagan set a precedent with his amnesty program???

It is sad to say, but I really fear for the future of the US. It's to the point that I have been voting third party, almost exclusively, for over 20 years...

Nations are never ruled by laws they are ruled by people and as such are inherently fallible. Democracy rises and falls on the will of the people not the laws they write. Excuses are for cowards and weak minds.

Because it benefits them. They get unfairly get cheap labor, so they make excuses, like "no citizen will do the work", which not true, and "this country was built by immigrants", which is also not true. This country was built by law abiding citizens who farmed the land, worked hard at various other occupations, paid taxes for their whole life, fought in wars, etc. People are willing to compromise right from wrong to justify the wrong they are doing by persuing slave labor, while the taxpayer picks up the tab for the illegals food, housing, medical, education, and other social services.

Because most of the people that go on and on about "the rule of law" are hypocrites as are the ones who compare illegal presence to felonies such as rape an murder. Not all crimes are the same and, legally speaking, the crime of being an illegal alien is no more severe than getting a speeding ticket. If you want proof look at the fact that is an illegal alien is arrested, tried and convicted of a felony, they are sent to prison and then deported. If they are simply captured as an illegal they're immediately deported. There is no jail time.

Yea, I think there are way to many good immigrants that are rejected and the trouble makers are accepted. I moved here from Switzerland and it took ages to get a green-card, i felt like every one else had one! Hahah well I doubt this country will change.
