I used to remember that one has to wait for 5-yr after obtaining green card before filing for US Citizenship. But a friend of mine told me that you can apply for US Citizenship through naturalization process at the 18th month after you've been granted with green card.
According to USCIS website, however, it looks like you have to wait for at least 30months before filing for US Citizenship....
confused...would appreciate your advice.

In Nebraska, can an illegal alien be granted discretionary parole from prison? The sentence was 3 to 5 yrs. for a drug offense and served 1 1/2yrs. Wouldn't he be deported upon release? Is it common to release illegals on parole?

My family made it's money by the slave trade, we bought Africains from thier African and Arab 'masters', in Africa, shipped them over to the Carribean and Americas and sold them for a huge profit.
Today our family is very mixed comprising of all racial groups, we all benfit from the family wealth.
Do you think the white, members of my family should give their share to the Africain Americans, and black Carribean descendents of the slaves we sold

If you don't want them deported then why do you want more dead Americans?

Each year illegal aliens kill three times more people than all of the people that died on 9/11. And three times times the number of soldiers that died in Iraq.

Those Who Hire Illegal Aliens Cause Americans 9,125 Deaths Annually
Frosty Wooldridge

Iowa’s United States Congressman Steve King told a crowd in Des Moines in June, “Illegal aliens cause the death of 25 American citizens every day…13 by drunken driving and 12 by stabbings or gun fire.”
That daily figure adds up to 9,125 deaths annually caused primarily by illegal alien Mexicans residing in America. Mike Rosen, radio talk show host in Denver, said it wasn’t significant when you consider our country of 300 million. A listener corrected him, “It’s not significant unless it’s your father or family member who gets killed.”

Hi, I am a green card holder (originally from Canada) and a little confused while filling out the N400 form to apply for my US Citizenship. I began my permanent residency in the US on 02/02/01, so I have resided here almost 6 years. At no point have I taken a single trip outside the US that was more than 6 months (always 5 mos and under), and my total number of days out of the country going back 5 years from today's date is 197. However, the year I obtained permanent residency (01 - which now takes us back beyond the 5 year period) my mother was quite ill in Canada and I spent a total of 250 days out of the country traveling back and forth to take care of her. My residence was in the US for that year, I have a bank account, and I have an official "exit" paper from Canada saying that I no longer reside there. However I am concerned that the total number of days away in 01 might have jeopardized my green card requirements and I may not be eligible for citizenship. Any advice? Thanks

i keep reading that ^^^^^^^ from people who say not to be racist . so my questions are :

so first at all who is WE the whites ???

and

why do they include every white person on their staments just to justify their racism ???

why do they constantly keep typing we the whites ???

and

does no that prove than their only concern is to not be in an all WHITE America in the futture ???

i personaly have friends from all races and i do not see all the whites being anti-immigrants i believe than most are inclusive and accepting of most cultures , i seen many trying to learn spanish and never using the phrase >>>>" we the whites " which i find offensive and racist to them . so why is this happening ??? why is this being allowed ????

and who is " WE THE WHITES " ???

I dont like checkpoints of any kind, but what the hell if thier out there looking for drunks and drugs why not illegals too,it only takes a matter of minutes to run a check thru the N.C.I.C. and even though some have obtained their licenses with false documents im sure some will be caught, after all we profiled people of mideast descent after 9/11 we still profile african americans and longhaired white guys like myself so if i dont have a problem with it why should anyone else, welcome to America, love it.hate it,or leave it!

what will it take for our government to address this and other problems associated with illegal aliens. Does anyone feel a disconnect between what the government is doing and what the american people really want.

I know Immigration is a hot topic now and my situation is probably hopeless, but I need some general answers. Here is my situation, I came to the United States around 15 yrs ago on an F-1 Student Visa and due to the great impression this country left on me, and I decided to stay. I was able to get a Drivers License and a Valid SSN. I know I should have left a long time ago, but this Country left a great impression on me and I foolishly decided to stay. I have a made a life here and have no more ties to my original country. My problem stems from the following:

First of all am I technically an Illegal Alien or Undocumented Alien
Second of all, I have a job with an Operations Company and they are working in the harbor and require me to apply for a customs identification card. I don’t want to break any more laws but will I be considered illegal resident and subject to arrest. Third of all , if I tell my employer that I have some immigration problems but that I still have valid document for employment, are they obligated to fire me and my last question is , considering the current political climate, what are the best options for regularizing my stay ?

Desperate

Let me start off by saying I'm not expressing an opinion on immigration.........
I often hear people say "I'm fine with immigrants if they'd just come here legally and pay taxes". In reply I always ask "How do you come to the United States legally and pay taxes?" and I have yet to have anyone really know the answer to that question. They just say something vague like "Well you have get papers." Does anyone know?

"Migrants to the UK bring valuable skills and ideas with them and help to fill job vacancies where Britons are unable or unwilling to do so."Their taxes help pay for our public services and our pensions, long after many migrants have returned home." Quote from ITN.

What do you think? In my area I see organised criminal gangs who have travelled here on false passports and with fake id's have managed to fraudulantly acquire mortgages - install all their gang members and turn a brand new development into a crime ridden, unsociable lawless area in 6 months. I can't see that they are contributing anything positive at all, either financially, economically or socially. Unfortunately what I see and experience is the destruction of a community, and I can see it in other areas of London too, it's not a race issue, it's attitude and many come here to commit crime. Some cultures are clearly more driven to be successful, honest and hard working than others - what is your experience?

A comment from a do-gooder would ne nice. I thought we desperately needed immigrants? If we do, why is unemployment just below 2 million people? not to mention the lazy twats on disabliity benefits.

The group also analysed a series of reports on the economic impact of immigration and concluded: "The much vaunted contribution of immigrants to the economy is very slight indeed."

Does this include the extra strain on the NHS? the police etc?

Well done Blair and the do-gooders.

And amnesty would give illegal aliens even greater access to our welfare system.

"The proportion of immigrant-headed households using at least one major welfare program is 29 percent, compared to 18 percent for native households."
