Hello, anyone home? Slavery was abolished in the whole British Empire in 1833 that's more than a hundred and seventy years ago. At that time ENGLAND was the seat of the Empire. Since there is no longer slavery in England people do not need to fear being used as slaves as they once were. Slaves were not generally used in England but rather in the colony's and only for the hardest of work. Don't minimise slavery it is a terrible thing.
We are all one human race.

lets break it down for you because I think you have 2 questions here:

if slavery was so bad - no ifs and buts about it, slavery was legitimate abuse! Thankfully it ended in its most gruesome form. However if your luck is ever really down and you feel you're serving a thankless organisation/govt/family and have been enslaved by their selfish needs whilst yours mean nothing......then you might just appreciate the 'if' in your question.
why are africans still trying to sneak into englang ? - by sneaking you mean immigrating, right? A broad political debate but one that centres around economic stability for families.

I am AFRICAN, i did not SNEAK into england, i competed for a position internationally and was selected and came here on the request and approval of your government!!! So please, do not put all immigrants or foreigners in the same basket.
Second, i find your question very offending. Slavery meant people were taken by force out of their homes, their villages, mothers separated from their children, and husbands, families dislocated and never knew what happened to each other, sent by boats in countries they did not want to be in! if they ever arrived alive. Slavery was a crime. a crime against humanity for which none of your ancestors got hanged by the way. Africans have put in behind, still had to put up with colonisation, another violation for which none of the western countries have paid by the way. Africans coming to europe are not here because they want to be slave. they are trying to escape poverty and hardship which root causes go back to slavery and colonisation, and to the current world economic systems which do not allow the majority of them to make a living out of their farming or traditional activities. But I would not go into explaining that to you, I doubt you have even understood a word of what i wrote above.
For your sake and other peple who think alike, keep in mind that africa is not so bad. My country is full of englishmen who live a very peaceful life in beautiful houses and enjoying a fantastic wheather, plus having the respect of the natives, and they would not come back to england for the world!

hmmm let me think
in ye olde days of slavery, most of them (or all?) were KIDNAPPED from their homes in Africa. Points to be noted:
1)They didnt WANT to go
2) They had to leave their families
3)They were treated like ANIMALS
4)many died as well-either killed or from the inhuman conditions they were FORCED to live in.
But that's only the first part of your question, isn't it?
After slavery(or alongside, whatever, look it up,) came Le Grande Imperial Age, where most of Africa was under European control(That includes England!). Again, look up yer history books, and you may notice that more, many more Africans were killed in this time. And of course, their old ways of life were destroyed. As a result, even to this day, some parts have not developed much(possible understatement here). So, yeah, they want a better life, and you are not that far away!

Ok Desmond is taking the pi ss but even then he still has a valid point.

Why exactly if we Brits are all so bad and racist would the angelic Africans/Iraq's.Nigerians etc etc etc etc want to move to this hell on earth?

Oh and it's always convenient to forget that it was Tribal chiefs that sold their fellow man to the Brits.

Your question is frivolous and insensitive..Do you doubt that slavery of another was "bad" ? I find this "question" offensive, and where the heck is englang?

It could be because slavery ended over 200 years ago. Just a wild guess.
