It isn't the fact they allow illegal immigration. The USA has very tough immigration laws and entry is supposed to be strictly controlled.
Now if you ask me, it is the political power of lots of employers that keep the government from rounding up the illegals and sending them home. They supply cheap labor and you can pay them peanuts, have them work long hours with no overtime, work in unsafe conditions and get away with it.
Make the penalties much tougher on those who hire them, restrict our welfare payouts and force able bodied Americans to get off their butts and work and things might change.

Probably there is a correction to make here. The US government does not allow illegal immigration. True the problem exists, and persists, but it is far from true that the government allows it.
In good measure, millions of would be illegal immigrants are stopped in their countries, in transit, and at border entry points before they come in. Many others are intimidated by the technological advance and reputation of the United States that they simply do not bother at all to try to go in illegally.
Giving illegal immigrants amnesty is an intricate matter that cannot come easy.

Our current administration and most major U.S. companies want to create a North American Union where their corruption could really run rampant and just suppress everyone into poverty and they would be kings. Ain't gonna happen though. Amnesty is just a foot in the door that allows a flood of third world people to take all they can get.
