Immigration - December 2006

Americans who are opposed to illegal immigration are often called, racist, heartless, etc. But, how do Mexicans feel about you. In 2006, Zogby International, in conjuction with a Mexican polling firm, did a survey of attitudes of 1,000 Americans & 1,000 Mexicans.

Americans viewed Mexicans postitively, with 78% saying Mex. were hard working and 44% seeing them as tolerant.

Mexicans have a very different view of us...73% felt that Americans are racist, 16% felt Americans were honest and only 25% say Americans are hard-working.

How does it serve our country to continually let in a large group of people who think that we suck? Eventually Texas, New Mexico, Cali. and Arizona will have such a large enough Mexican population that if they wanted to secede they probably could. Will we end up fighting another civil war then...or will we just let those states go? Why do we send our troops defend the borders of Kosovo and Korea while we ignore the very real threat here?

People as U.S. citizen we need to get a law passed to make English our offical language if we were to move to another country we would be expected to learn that countries language so why can't mexicans learn ours?

I'm British and had a massive argument with my American ex-Girlfriend over our Joint Bank account. It ended up going to civil court while I was out of the country and I think i now have a civil court harrasment restraining order.

I would like to visit Las vegas with my new Girlfriend now but
does this mean I know have a criminal record? if i fly into the USA will i be deported or arrested? Is it even possible to be charged with a crime in the USA if you are not in the country??

well recently al qaeda ( i do not know the correct spelling ) showed some videos at the internet with some of their members preparing a bomb which was finally used to destroy an American armored vehicle . apparently al qaeda is becoming stronger thanks to the drug trafic of opium which is going on in alarming numbers . so i was wondering :

who is responsible for this ???

who is buying those drugs and making al qaeda powerfull ???

the reason of why this is on the immigration seccion is because of the violence which Mexicans had fallen into because of a beutyful country which with al its beauty yet which provides more money than anyone could think of to drug cartels which are provided with weapons and money form this country and are preventing Mex from real economic grow .... to solve big problems is never easy but aren't those drug adicts the main responsible of many immigrating to the USA ???

We're told over and over and over Americans don't want these jobs. How can it be then that Americans were lined up out the door to put in applications?

I need free medical care. I like the idea of no tax worries. Wife and I can have a houseful of kids with all services provided free of charge.Can get a new id every day. Can drink and drive with support from the ACUL.Can tell sob stories make money just for talking. Can get special treatment from the police. I am an American citizen and am married to a Belgian citizen. Since Belgium doesn't "recognize" dual citizenship but the USA does, can I become a Belgian citizen and ALSO retain my US citizenship? As far as I understand, the USA will not automatically drop my citizenship upon becoming a dual citizen. Correct? Anyone else had any personal experience with Belgian/USA immigration?

Whites here in the USA are always complaining about "the browning of America" and that Mexicans are invading the country, that Blacks are ruining their cities with crime, that South Asians are taking their jobs to India or with HB1 visas, that the Chinese are plotting to destroy them and that the Jews control their lives.

If whites here are so miserable, why don't they go back to their countries in Europe? It'd make sense, and they'd be much happier. Countries like Iceland have no or very few East Indians, Chinese, Jews, Mexicans or Blacks.

I've applied for a J1 visa waiver, and I'm now waiting for a response. I read it takes up to 5 months. I also have a turist visa, valid until 2010. I'm not currently working...I quit my job. The question is, can I travel abroad and come back with my turist visa? and can I expect to get my waiver approved even if I'm not working? I'm being suported by my fiancee. I hope to get answers to this...I've done a lot of research online, and nothing! Thanks

Act On Immigration Now

The well-publicized immigration raid on the Swift and Co. meatpacking plant in Cactus serves as a troubling reminder that our immigration system is broken and needs to be fixed.

Texas businesses want and need to follow the law. Unfortunately, they lack a sensible and reliable system to verify an employee’s legal status.

Employers are forced to navigate tricky waters each time they make a hire.

Texas businesses must deal with complex immigration regulations; a glut of seemingly valid, but sometimes counterfeit, worker identification documents; and the threat of discrimination lawsuits if they ask the “wrong” questions about employees’ documents.

Enforcement alone will not fix our immigration system, and it has failed in the past. We can’t just build walls around a broken system — we need to fix it to make sure we achieve real security, restore law and order and have enough workers to continue growing our economy.

It is time for a serious solution to this serious challenge. It is time for Congress to act.

The National Id will be give May11, 2008. With out it you will not be able to work, open a bank account, board a plane,train or bus.You will not be able to drive with out it. Evenually you will not be able to buy anything without.How is this posiable? We must give a birth cirfitie, SS card ,eye scan, finger prints and picture to get this ID.
