People up north aren't faced with it like we are down south. They really have no idea......I've seen it too many times on this forum! They do not understand. And a lot of people don't understand why we keep referring to the Mexicans when we speak of illegal immigration, so they just call us "racists." Also, it's like Niecy said.....the ones who do see what's happening aren't going to turn against their people for any reason what so ever. They simply ignore it.

Because for some it's still an issue "out there". For some they are wealthy enough that they aren't getting run out of their neighborhoods and their kids are in private schools and getting a good education. They don't shop at Wal-Mart and doubtfully do their own shopping. Their only contact is the one nice man who does a great job on their lawn.
In some areas of the country where there is alot of agriculture.....their kids aren't too keen on carrying on the family farm or ranch and the population is dwindling. They are thankful for new people willing to work, but in most cases it's temporary and not enough to live year round on. They still don't lock their homes or cars and are now starting to feel the first crush of seeing all people aren't good or nice. Yet they are torn coz they are such good workers.
I've lived in both situations. I've lived way long enough to see the changes from the start to the end result and it is spreading like the plague and NOT 1 place is BETTER for it. Not 1. It might be better than Mexico but it's not by American standards. It's not a blending....it's a take-over. It's not a few move into a community and become a part of it.....I've seen towns just taken over in a year. People run out and not a word of English spoken.
It's not a joke and I hope more wake up or else have these people wake up and see that they are destroying what they came here for and creating what they said they were leaving.

It's not just the border states. I live in Georgia and it is a major problem here. I think the other states are so busy trying to be the "good"guy they can't admit that the U.S. has a huge problem. A fence, wall or man with a gun is not the only solution, we need to start sending the illegals back. In Georgia, they aren't sending them back. Immigration says that they can not afford to send them back one at a time and that the police need to hold them until they have a bus load in order for it to be cost effective to send illegals back. The police say they do not have the resources to hold them...I say it's not a big mystery how to solve this. The illegals here seem to stay in the same area's and I am pretty sure it would take all of ten minutes to load up a bus to send them home if INS went to the right places.

They see it, they just refuse to acknowledge it! It is the same with many issues. We just feel that problems will go away if we ignore it hard enough. If this is not true about the typical American, it is for politicians.
Every state now has this problem. In many cases, people want to take whatever measures necessary to end the problem, but their representatives in all levels of government have their own agendas.

Because some people refuse to deal with reality. Others seem to think we OWE the illegals something. And some are just flat-out stupid.
I'm with you, for what it's worth - lived in southern California for a few years, and couldn't get a good job because I didn't habla. The really pathetic part is, I DID study a foreign language for several years - just not Spanish.

In a way its kind of like, as long as its not in your back yard, they see it as why should I care. They might just wake up with more illegal immigration marches, that seems to wake more of us up each time.

Because they are related to or friends with illegals so they turn a blind eye to all the damage they do.

Many border states I know are in the bottom third of the country on per capita spending on Social Services, School spending, and healthcare. So what makes you think they would suddenly fund these things once the illegal aliens were gone? Property taxes are not going up in texas or arizona.....Where are you getting your numbers to say they are "skyrocketing?"
