does anyone know anything bout this new law that just past on the boarders ? my family all live in united states and i see them often and now i hear noone can get in or out starting jan without a passport ... i have one but its expired and cost so much to renew right now ..!! i live in canada but im so scared of never being allowed to cross boarder without the passport ,, i am american so im also scared that i might get thru to states side but not be able to get back to canada ...

By the way, the people who are saying that the writing stuff is a sham, it may have been for some. Depends on where you go but obviously, they are just making a pathetic attempt to tear down what I have done and this doesn't belong in the immigration forum. I think I’ll go to Mexico and give the people there a show

I came to USA with K-1 Fiancee visa . That time the name on my passport from Malaysia is my original name! And after that I get married and applied for my greencard. The name shown is my husband name....now my question is I plan to visit my parent in Malaysia pretty soon! I would like to know whether it be a probelm when I fly abord and pass through the INS station in the state? SAs the name in my passport and name in my greencard is different? I mean the last name is different!! I hope someone can help me urgent!!! Thanks

Just because a person is forced to pay taxes because their employer thinks they are legal does it make them legal? Just because someone is a good person does it make them legal? Just because someone is a hard worker does it make them legal? Does anything you do besides marrying someone once you've crossed the border illegally change you're status? NO. I am looking for information on immigration laws in regards to children. My sister had a baby with a man who is an illegal alien and he is trying to take the baby away from her. I was at the age of seven in the year of 1996 when my uncle called me to the USA. I studied there until fifth grade and suddenly a tension arose between my uncle and father and i was sent back to India.I want to know can greencards get renewed. Please help and tell me.Are there chances of getting my greencard renwed or can i go back with the same greencard. My uncle is not willing to help me. He has destroyed my life. everyone is complaining and whining about illegal immigration but no one seems to come up with real immigration reforms. any human with an iota of common sense know that mass deportation(antil illegal) or full amnesty (pro illegal)is not the way to go. Why cant we meet somewhere in the middle and come up with a solution that will be beneficial to both sides? A win-win situation. Lets say for example:every illegal must pay fines, be registered & go thru background check and NOT become a public burden i.e. collect welfare & other gov't aid for 5 yrs (special exemptions can always be made in dire situations); will not be eligible for certain benefits if they haven't paid into the system;criminals will automatically be deported;must show financial capacity to sustain themselves for the first 3 yrs of conditional residency;make english the official language; after 5 yrs of conditional residency if everything looks okay be given a 10 yr permanent residency with ability to become citizen.....
