Just because a person is forced to pay taxes because their employer thinks they are legal does it make them legal? Just because someone is a good person does it make them legal? Just because someone is a hard worker does it make them legal? Does anything you do besides marrying someone once you've crossed the border illegally change you're status? NO. No matter what anyone says illegal is illegal. Do any pro-illegals here know what illegal means? Is it that hard to understand? We have laws here. They were made for a reason. No other country in the world would put up with this so why are we the bad guys for putting our foot down?

You are correct.........but that really isn't the real issue! The real problem is that we need to come up with a real plan to fix the problems the INS has NOW. There are people who have done everything they can to comply with the law--they applied to come here, got approval, follow the rules and are doing everything that WE ask of them, but they are still stuck in limbo. The current system of granting citizenship is so far backlogged that some people are waiting literally YEARS for a decision--and then being told because it's been so long since they applied that they have to start the entire process over again. That is WRONG!

While I agree completely with you that illegal is illegal, I truly wish people could focus on the real issue--fixing the system, so those who have followed the rules are given citizenship and those that haven't are sent home.

Amen sister. I hear so much talk about how immigrants from other countries are fleeing to the USA for freedom, and I don't blame them at all, but do it LEGALLY. They cross miles of open desert, dying from the elements, or getting shot by drug runners. How humane is that? We have an immigration system in place where they can come into our country legally. How hard is that to understand? It's safe and secure for them, and for us. In fact, by enforcing the law and making them abide by the law, we're actually protecting them and being even more humane.

Why don't most people get this?

I think no one likes to be illegal. There's nothing like being a honest person living a honest life. If you need some illegal status in some time of your life make it the quickest as possible.

I guess the illegals think they should be rewarded, I dont know where it came from that they are hard workers, they halfway do things. There has been a hugh cover up, the Ecoli outbreak was because they crap in the fields and wipe with our food!
I saw a news report when it first happened that a Illegal interviewed said they did not want to take the time to go to the restroom, it was time away from making money.
Enjoy your salad, compliments of your friendly Illegal!

... and why is it those of us that oppose "illegal" immigrants are accused of racial hatred? I spent 4 years working in Central America and fell in love with it's culture and people. If they follow the laws and guidelines, migrate legally, and pay into the system as I must do, I have abosultely NO problem with it.

It's not RACIAL HATRED... it's CRIMINAL HATRED!

EDIT: For those pitying these immigrants, what about the people left behind? If these "oppressed" people do not join the others in their country and fight for change, and simply run away from their problems, what happens to the ones left behind and future generations? They are doomed to repeat this cycle of dispair!

Ill eagle ...is a sick bird!
Yes our bird is sick ... standing up is a start to putting us on the way to fix the sick bird. You gotta remember ... any one who has a great thing going and someone tries to change it, amend it, or take it away ....the folks affected are gonna put up a fuss.....
face it (work ethic asside) if someone paid you to sit on your butt and watch soaps ... would you not get a bit ticked when they stopped sending the check and said learn to say (in english) "You want fries with that?"

Yuppers ...it's gonna get louder before the issue gets fixed.
You work, you apply for citizen ship, you stay ... Soc bennies only for vested citizens ... lets pay those in transition from the foregin aid budget not Soc funds ..... after all granny should never have to choose between eating and buying her heart meds ......

Sorry ... hadda rant a bit !

There is a double standard here.
This country was started on illegals, The pilgrims invaded the indian territory.
Most of the laws were made by immigrants to start with.
U got to look at history and how this country started and human rights.

what color is the sky in your world? you say "No other country in the world would put up with this" that is incorrect. many european countries have a much larger percentage of illegal aliens than the US. and people in africa and asia cross borders by the millions. national boundries are a reletively recent thing in the long history of the world and it's cultures.

Amen to that. Illegal is someone who has entered without proper paperwork, work visa, etc.. None of them are paying any taxes if they have no SS no., so we are paying their way. Any display of a Mexican flag ought to buy the holder a ticket home. If they fly the American flag upside down, they ought to be shot. If they burn one, the ought to be hanged. That might stop some of this crap that we taxpayers have to watch. We aren't running to make Chinese a second language - then why are we pampering our illegals with Spanish as a second language. I am from Texas, and I am sick of all of this pussyfooting around. I have Mexican friends, but they all got here legally.

Of course illegal is illegal. It's almost funny to watch the pro-illegals trying to defend them, except that they actually believe what they are spewing...
