Not so that it would kill anyone. Just a good jolt, so they won't try again.

They could live a good life in Mexico for years on that amount. Seems they have ways to get money when it comes time to sneak in America. Why can't they use that same knowledge to make a life there or does free medical care, free food stamps, free sec sec money for all their kids make working a honest job in Mexico not worth it when you can get the better life package. Illegal aliens are abusing the system so badly for those in the future of Mexico want have anything when it comes to having a better life there want be any more better lives cause all the better lives will have been taken.

Do you have an idea how much money it takes? If Mexicans had the money required for visas they wouldn't need to come here to work for $8/hr. mowing lawns.

Do you know how long it can take to get a visa? Sometimes many years. Most people have the God-given drive to find a way to feed their families when they are starving. This is just common sense. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

Many Mexicans lose their very lives on the journey here. They have to deal with robbers who lay in wait for them, Immigration looking for them, Minutemen, no food, no water, no money, extreme weather conditions, poor traveling conditions (hopping trains, packed liked sardines in trucks, etc.) It's worth the risk to them for the chance of a better life and a chance to escape poverty. How many lazy Americans won't even walk across the street to apply for a job at McDonalds because it's a shorter walk to the mailbox to p/u the welfare check?

Many of the questions as well as the answers on here make me think that people talk just to talk. You are putting down a group of people that have a great influence in the daily lives you lead. How many of you go and eat Mexican food? How many of you use products made in Mexico? How many of you can sit there and not feel bad as you eat the fruits and vegetables picked by those people you consider "lazy Mexicans"? Ask yourself, how much of all the comments you hear actually have something to back it up. You are labeling a whole race, the Mexican People, by what a small portion of people are doing. So my question to you is, how can you be so damn hypocritical??

I have a freind that lives with her boyfreind, and ahe just told me that they have an illegal immigrant living with them, he was put in jail, and also in the immigrant holding facility, They let him out!! He lives with them now and she wants him out. The immigration authorites come by and check on him as well.

Why didn't he get deported when he got put in jail, especially if they know he's illegally here? Who can she contact? The authorities already know he's here illegally.! What in the world is up with that?

I mean people are even using the excuse we are not all from here either! I dont know about you but I aint got nothing to do with what my ancestors did hundreds of years ago ( by the way as I said before my people were chained to the bottom of a boat and dragged here so we had not choice) but I am here today Legal and proud of it. Now my question Why do you believe the race card is being played are they running out of things to use or what?

Why don't we help out Mexico? They are much closer than Iraq, and maybe if we worked with them to better the lives of the Mexican people we would not have such a bad illegal immigration problem. The money spent on a fence will really not solve the problem, it could be spent elsewhere. The long term solution is to make Mexico a place people want to live and work in, and even if it's not our job to help them do that, if their government doesn't care enough to do it, isn't it in our own best interest to help out? That is the only way to solve the immigration problem forever. Why don't we help our neighbors?

How long will Americans have to wait before our country is returned to us, and not just given to all the Criminal Trespassers who are here illegally? And, when will Yahoo Answers team start paying attention to the rampant abuse of its users and thier copyrighted materials? They have the technology to constantly upgrade the site with all the bells and whistles imaginable, why not put some of that effort into stopping the abuse? This is getting ridiculous.

In 2002 during summer work in the States I got arrested for a minor assault charge - but went back home instead of going to court. My brother is getting married in the States next year and I want to go over - it's a different state - but am worried that they might somehow know about the warrant. What are the chances of them having details in a different state - and what would happen if they did have it on record?
