I think the real issue of immigration is land space in america. I personally think that america is going to overpopulate in the coming years and run out of space. especially in the regions that is already overpopulated. how can america absorb all these people? i dont think america is here for people to escaped to because the people that is here and have been born have to suffer the changes. I am already seeing 2-3 more things that they take out for in taxes in my check. Im not saying that America cant try to help some people, but its seems as though america is going to run out of space. what do ya think?

They tried the using the race card....... that doesn't work.
They tried using the Bible......... that doesn't work (for every statement in the Bible, one can find a contradiction to that statement)
The tried using human rights....... that doesn't work.
They tried protesting...... that doesn't work.

Now watch them try to pull a rabbit out of a hat next.

When will they admit that they are wrong?

stealing is when you take someones property, a country is not property its territory. Not paying taxes is not stealing its evading. Losing your job to an illegal is not stealing it is competition. Why do all you layman and heathen say the same things?

One way I will support it. My step son has waited for a legal visa now over 9 years. If they give the mexicans a amnesty, they should give a automatic visa to all my wife's family in the Philippines, fly them here for free and give them each $10,000.00 for making them wait while the illegals were given a walk. In fact, I think they should arrive here and get the cash, then sign the amnesty. Give the same to all the people from every other country that has waited for years to come here legally.

immigration everyone assumes i'm mexican? which i am not. I've discussed with my friends and family and we are not afraid of illegals and the burden they come with. What is burden exactly, is fellow man not our burden? If they want cross the border than fine, as long as I can still get tomatoes for a $1 per lb. Infact, i've decided that I would like to give back the state of California to the Mexicans. Its only fair. What do you think, is to peaceful for us tough Americans?

Should immigrants be allowed to behave as some do. How bad conditions in France or the UK are for them it has to be better than their own country. If not why do they not go back. This is not a racist question I hope it is common sense. Why should France and the UK have to give give give only for some Immigrants to want more. It is not their country.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 27 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Following the President signing legislation authorizing 700 miles of new fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border, Catholic Charities USA today called on both President Bush and Congress to finish the job by acting swiftly to enact just and fair comprehensive immigration reform...

Is it maybe time to start levying taxes against religious institutions in our country that now feel they have assumed the power to govern etc? Will we end up with 'vote Catholic' etc? Do you support religious groups trying to run our country, on either the immigration issue, or others?

If we are taking advantage of the property prices in Bulgaria, Croatia and the like, why should they be penalised from entering the UK? I don't like the huge influx of foreigners, but we are doing the same thing elsewhere. And before you all start moaning about the state of the economy....all politicians are the same, they say alot but once in power...do nothing. We've made the mess and must now accept the consequences, like it or not!

So they're good enough to pick your tomatoes? but not good enough to be your neighbor. Do we not have enough room? China does not have enough room, we do. Are most of us the not descendants of immigrants ourselves because i hate being a hypocrite? Do you know how long it can take to go through the process of legally immigrating? years, Ask yourself if you could wait years if you wanted to move to somewhere else? Was California and the Southwest not theirs originally? then why do those states have spanish names? Are you all sheep that will believe anything the media tells you? 911 was not an inside job and JFK was killed by a lone gunmen.

Does anyone think that 700 more miles of fencing will stem the flow of illegal immigrants? Do people see the fence as a good start or just Bush playing election politics, then letting the status quo continue?

Also, how many miles of high fencing already exist?

You don't hear African Americans, Middle Eastern, or Asian Americans complaining about these illegals. What it comes down to is that you want to protect your way of life and you don't want to share. Don't give me this reverse pyscho babble on how it's unfair to people who are waiting immigrate the legal and right way. What is fair and right? Was it fair we slaughtered Indians, was it fair we enslaved blacks for 400 years. The blue collar laborer wants to protect his wages because he knows an illegal or an immigrant will do the same job for half the price. Who said its your God given right to make more than another man for doing the same job. If i'm a business owner I don't care what country you come from or your immigration status, I would just care about who did the best job for the best price. Screw the blue collar laborer, its you fault for not going to college.

I am perplexed by some answers I'm reading to questions in the Immigration forum. Why is it that some of you believe only a LEGAL immigrant could ever become a great citizen?

For those of you who don't know my story:

My husband came here LEGALLY to work on a farm cutting vegetables for $3/hr. He spoke no English. He had no high school education. He taught himself enough English to get a better paying job. Doing so made him inelligible to renew his visa because of his choice to leave the work program with which he came here. He became "illegal." Long story short he is now fully bilingual, he owns his own business, has a 6-figure income, we live in one of the nicest historic homes in our town and are well-respected members of our community & he is a citizen - all in 10 years time. I would like to add that he has ALWAYS paid taxes with a REAL SSN given to him by our gov't when he first came here.

I am dissapointed by the govern. & the people who cant see this disaster.

"Ciudad Juarez is not Berlín"

Carlos Calderon says that, and I agree with him....we are in a modern world were we are capable of solving problems without taking this measures. The only reason for building it, is to stop illegal immigration. But building a wall will not solve it, it will only separte two contries that help each other. This will cause problems between them, and that's not the point. Mexico needs to work harder for the benefit of its people and the United States needs to make it easier for immigrants to pass legally.
