right now i think its around $400. is it more?

The fee for the N-400 Application for Naturalization is $330. If you will need biometrics, that is a separate fee of $70.

Citizenship and immigration fees change all the time as new forms are invented and bureaucrats try to justify their pathetic pointless jobs.

The bottom line is the American tax payer (voter) decided long ago that the INS (or whatever they are calling themselves this week) should be self financing, rather than supported by American tax payers.

So to pay for the INS the fees change periodically, as needed. I don't know how much it currently costs to become a citizen, but I doubt it is as little as $400 all in.
