You are right! The Brits buying property here are raising the prices and it is almost impossible now for first time buyers to get into the property market. We do not own loads of property and do not spend our time building houses for foreigners to buy. However, soon we'll have to start renting our homes from the so called "investors". Still, there's no bad feelings to the Brits. This is market economy.
Bulgarian and Romanian citizens in Europe - presently some of them are in fact criminals with no respect for the law, as it is impossible for honest hardworking people to travel around and work legally. I am certain that on 1 Jan. 2007, when the visa restrictions fall, those who will come to stay in your country will be exactly those who don't care about the law. Very sad.
The Bulgarian government, in turn, will not allow British citizens to work in BG as a reciprocal measure. This is also bad, considering the fact that from next year Bulgaria will be the country with the lowest profit tax (10%) in Europe, and as it is against the idea of market economy. The Bulgarian labour market is already short of middle and higher tier managers.
The decision is discriminating, unjust and bad for both countries. Last but not least, I don't know about Romanians, but Bulgarians are not exactly swarming to go to the UK, most people prefer to work in BG and if anyone is considering emmigration - it is to the closer and warmer countries.

I totally agree. Its just popularism - the Government pandering to Daily Mail readers and little Englanders. The problem the UK has is that too many of its own citizens are workshy loafers.
Let all the Bulgarians in I say - so long as they are prepared to work and obey UK laws.

I agree with you on this point. The fact that we are buying up their properties means that the prices are rising out of the reach of the wages of many people in poorer European countries. Therefore, if they earn high wages in the UK, they can afford to send money home to help their people buy their homes. However, it has to be said that the Bulgarians, Croatians etc have to take some of the blame for the hike in house prices in their country, they sold them to rich foreigners for high prices.

If you consider yourself to be English you would not ask that question. The English people are the most tolerant hosts in the world apart from the Scottish and Welsh of course but tolerance has come at a price first, Immigration (just after the war) then Mass immigration, then multiculturalism and now ethnic cleansing. The English or indigenous British person is being ethnically cleansed by the government it has entrusted to govern the country. If you listened to Janet Street Porter and Paddy Ashdown during the week, they both supported ethnic cleansing and mass immigration of the Bulgarians and others. this because they are both racialist, no I don't mean towards the Africans, Bulgarians poles etc but against their own people, this type of racialism is called reverse racialism. Reverse Racialist have no loyalty to their own people and do not consider it wrong that the country is being forcefully taken over for ulteria motives. You see, we have no Arthur, Alfred or King Richard to come to our aid, infact there is no natural leader to defend us from our biggest enemy (the Labour, Libberal and consrvative parties).
As the ethnic cleansing process takes place the indigenous Briton is being slowly replaced by other communities, some area's are now 'No Go' and as with Iraq the Labour part are completely to blame. Property prices are esculating, the rich are getting richer and the poor white Briton is getting poorer. Our social security infrastructure can't sustain the growth and is spilling over. The work done by the unions to maintain wages is lost to cheap labour willing to do it for half the price, all that is happening is that the rich are getting discustingly richer and conditions for those that have to actually work to provide for those that don't work (believe me there are an enormous number of immigrats on benefits) being given homes and social security as soon as they land on British soil. It is not my place to tell people how to vote bt unless the BNP or UKIT make large gains in the coming elections or next general election it may be to late to limet the damage the mainstream parties have done. There must be someone who can take on our enemies at the polling booth.

They are selling their babies in these countries - because greedy buy to let "investors" and speculators are forcing up property prices and rents. After they have paid their rent they have no money left to feed their families. People who buy to let - are just greedy - they have made a packet on their own homes and buy to let in the UK and now they are going in to Eastern Europe. they are greedy and disgusting - Gordon Brown would be proud of them.

The Bulgarian government is perfectly able to ban English people from buying Bulgarian property if they want. If they don't ban then they can't complain about the UK government banning some immigration.

I'm not taking advatage of ther property prices
And we don't want any more immigrants here - they are taking jobs away from British people because they will work for less than minimum wage, so skilled people (like my BF whos a trained mechanic) are losing out to foreigners who will do the job for half the wage.
British people need a decent wage to cover their mortgage, council tax, food, fuel etc.
