You must be a permanent resident for 5 years ( only 3 years if through marriage) before you apply. Becoming a permanent resident takes a long time. The only shorter way right now is if you are already a perm resident, you can serve in the Iraq war and get an expedited citizenship. Do not recomend it though.
By the way, the USA has no problem with naturalized Britons keeping their British nationality. And if Britain does not mind it either, then there is no conflict.

Commit a war crime in South America while working for the CIA or be part of an anti-Castro terrorist group and blow up a civilian airliner in Venezuela. That's the fastest way.
But seriously...
You don't need to be a citizen to get a gree card. You need a work visa and be a resident for eighteen months or two years. Then you can apply for a green card. Citizenship is different.

The easiest and fastest way to become an American citizen is to be born as one. Seriously, just call the Immigration center near you and request a form to become an American citizen. The sooner you complete it and send it along with the required payment the sooner they will start processing your request. You don't need a lawyer. The form is easy to complete. You can probably download it from the internet. Don't let anyone fool you making you think that you have to marry anyone. There are certain requirements to become an American citizen such as being a legal resident with a green card for five year before your request abd passing test to proof that you can speak the language.

There is no fast way .
If you want to come to the US , you will need somebody to support you .
Who ever this person is will need to be able to support you for 2 years .
If you don't have that , you can't come here .
There is no such thing as being , half British and half American .
Look on the Internet , look for " dual Citizenship " and it will tell you in what case you can have dual Citizenship .
It's not going to work in your case .

Take a holiday in Mexico and swim, run and hop over the border. If you survive the obstacle course - there you are.
Be careful that you are not overeducated to go to America - you will stand out too much if you can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Pity you aren't Irish because they can get their green cards more easily then UK citizens.
YEP just go to Mexico and get over the border before they build the fence.
