"The president of a temporary-labor contracting company operating in Ohio and Tennessee and two other people associated with the company pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiring to send hundreds of illegal immigrants to work for an air cargo business, federal prosecutors and immigration officials said. As part of his plea, Maximino Garcia, 43, president of the Garcia Labor Company, agreed to forfeit $12 million in proceeds, including an office building in Wilmington, Ohio. Also pleading guilty were Dominga McCarroll, 53, Mr. Garcia’s sister and a former vice president of the company, and Gina Luciano, 40, director of human relations. Mr. Garcia admitted that he had sent more than 400 illegal immigrants to work loading cargo at ABX Air in Wilmington under contracts spanning five years."

I'am glad he is sighning it, but at the same time I fell he has a wild card up his sleeve. I just don't see him giving up on slave labor... errrr... I mean illegal immigration that easy.

The government has said the virtual fence will eventually cover 6,000 miles along the Mexican and Canadian borders in efforts to make them secure. It has not placed a price tag on the project.

By the same token, why should an illegal immigrant stay in this country just because he/she has been hear, violating the law, for five years?

I really want to know if someone really believes in this! I have yet to hear a smart opposing viewpoint on the illegal immigration issue!

I really feel badly for the kid, but I think his mother is only making it worse for him sending the kid off with strangers on an effort where he is pretty sure to fail.

In any event, she is NOT a good poster child for the issue, having already been deported once, and having been convicted of social security fraud before running from a valid court order.

I wish they would get on with it though.

There is a movement to amend the 14th amendment. That's the one which allows babies born in the US, from non citizens, to have immediate full citizenship.

"Section I. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or munities
of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

Another example of news stories twisted to the advantage of anti-immigrants. Either that or these people don't like to do research so that they don't make themselves look like fools. Here is a copy of H.R. 4830. It simply makes tunneling illegal and provides provisions for punishment.

If you are a LEGAL immigrant, don't you get angry at others who just snuck in and got away with it? Don't you feel angry that you spent time, money, and effort to come here the right way...and then watched as others get away with don't things the wrong way. That is not fair to you and me that illegals can break laws and we would go to jail for breaking any law.

if americans and Canadians moved completly off the continent..where would the immigrants migrate to?
