I guess it is a matter of how some people address this issue. Also depending on your race, some people may be more offended that other races. For instance, some people may think they own this country and are very protective of it. There was a time when Native Americans felt that over sea invaders should all go home as well. I'm not native american btw, but lets face it, this beautiful country was taken by force from the Native Americans. I understand there needs to be a system to keep things in check and I have no problem with that. Some of these issue presented on Yahoo answers just seem to go overboard with people's attitudes toward immiigrates. If we all looked into our own roots, we may find that our ancestors once were immagrates as well and did what they had to ,to start a new life in this counrty. I applause your question, but I don't see it as a matter of racism but poor attitude towards others. Good luck in the debates.

When you speak of "illegals" does that include races other than Mexican?Where I live you can't find a 7/11 that is American owned. The family's that own and run the 7/11's wear turbans on their heads or speak chinese.Where I live there is a section of the city that is a little Hong Kong city in itself and quite plainly marked as such.An area where Americans aren't welcome unless they are spending money. They hoard their profits and send it back to their homelands to support their family they left behind! Until they have enough $$ to bring them over here. They own a large portion of restaurants and they don't hire Americans to work there.They came to our country and applied for gov. grants to start their businesses. To me these people pose a bigger threat to our economy than the people that plant,harvest and process our vegetables. The latter spend their earnings here in America. And I have not read one single post about all the Vietnamese that came here,hoarding their gold. While Americans bought them new cars and built new homes for them and educated their children and our gov. set them up in their own business!
And Kay_Kay, if you are so "patriotic" learn to correctly spell English and use it properly! You said"what we dont like!!! That dose not make you a racist!!! No, sorry...... I am all for legal immigration. I am not for illegal immigration, and people who hire illegal imigrants, and abuse illegal imigrants. Granted they didn't come here under legal circumstances, however they should be given basic human dignity and returned to their country.
Just a thought, if you all care so much about patrotism, and the beauty of this nation, join the military! Show your REAL patrotism! How far would you go? Its really easy for people talk about patrotism, and say its their obligation....yadi yadi yadi, dawn a military uniform and grab your M-16.... back it up!

First of all, "I don't speak Spanish but English and German or Dutch" would have sound nicer. Second of all, don't take for granted all the opportunities you have had. If you saw all the misery, and sadness of the lives people who migrate to other countries (not only The U.S.), you wouldn't be talking about patriotism. It's true, illegal immigration is bad for everybody, but you have to think they do it because American authorities won't give them too many chances to travel legally. I live in Ecuador and when I asked for my American visa, they almost asked me to give them my blood. It's an exaggeration, I know, But it was not easy to go there. Now, You Americans feel invaded and I can understand that but you have to look both sides before making a judgment. Long story short, be a little more sensitive about other people's misery.

If it is just that you are anti-illegal, as many put it, then why are you unwilling to accept a guest worker program! That would take care of the problem of them being "illegal." And if it's the "stealing jobs" argument that you proclaim, why not support welfare reform so that all the lazy US citizens sucking up tax dollars by making welfare their primary source of income, will get out and "steal" their jobs back. And if it is homeland security you take, then why not support beefing up incorruptable security at the border checkpoints we already have, NORTH and SOUTH, and FAR more security at our ports, where there is a chance that a WMD has already made it through? These are all reasonable and possible solutions to all arguments. Unfortunately, as I am sure will result in my posting you will say that those are not good enough, even though they would be.

Kay, I agreee with you completely, now get your liberal dems to pass some serious legislation so we can build a wall/fence they do work, it worked in berlin, and dmz in korea. We could take a lesson from Canada, they allow them to come to work during the summer then they go home....Simple and effective.
