Well, not everyone's. And there is so much mixing that a large percentage of people of all colors have native American blood somewhere. Don't believe the hype.

Yeah, if you go back far enough, even the "Native Americans" came to this continent from Asia. There were no humans here to resist them, so they took over the land and used its resources (buffalo, etc.) ... and used them very well, from what I understand.

Then the Europeans came to America. The Native Americans were already here, but they did not have the technology and organizational structure to defend against the invaders, and for a long time didn't realize they were being invaded. (Little Big Horn and Sitting Bull would be an isolated exception.) So the Europeans were able to form a nation and take over the land and its resources ... and to develop them to a very high standard of living (although society is still not perfect).

Then the Mexicans invaded the United States. The Americans had the military capability to repel the invaders, but like the Native Americans, they did not recognize that they were being invaded. Even after it became obvious that there was an invasion going on, there was endless discussion and handwringing about whether to try to stop it. Eventually, the makeup of the nation's population had changed so much that it became known as the Mexican States of America, as the invaders took over the land and its resources, with the help of payments from the U.S. government.

The US was founded originally for religious freedom, then for freedom from taxation. Once the country set rules for entering the country, the rules should have been obeyed. When they are not obeyed then it becomes a legal issue. No matter what the country of origin is for the illegal person, they should be deported and if they want to return then must do it the correct way.
That is the only fair way to do it, because all of the American citizens ancestors either fought for the right for the country to exist at all, for the protection of the liberties that we take so easily for granted or they came here the legal immigration route. Why should someone who didn't do it the right way be bestowed with the gift of US citizenship and all that, that entails.

I think that my families "dues" have been paid. My ancestors fought in every war since the Civil War. My ancestors helped make this country what it was . But not what it is now ! So many immigrants are coming here bringing new illnesses and drugs ( METH from Mexico ). Those immigrants are draining our resources down to nothing and not paying anything in. We won't last long like this.

Yeah, but so what? How far back would you trace that, using that logic? To the Garden of Eden?

Here it is, simply: I was born here. My parents are legal citizens of the U.S., as were their parents. That makes me native to the United States. Period.

BTW- The "U.S." was created by our forefathers. It wasn't here already when the boats started coming. So plenty of people "came from the U.S."

People say that we came as legal ones.....if you want to consider the atrocities committed to the North American Indians as our coming here legal do so......The Indian did not have the concept of owning land.......The saw land as on loan by mother nature. Mother nature owned the land they did not. So when the White Man came requesting to buy land the Indian so much wanted to share all of the bounty of the land with the white man......The white man tricked the Indians into entering into written contracts of land purchase.......lands of hundreds of acres purchased with little in exchange.....was not money.......Beaver pelts, deer antlers....beads...etc were the purchasing items. The Indians not understanding the concept of a man owning land......assumed that they were giving the white man the same rights as they had to hunt fish and camp .... The white man saw the Indian as stupid and dumb and savage and fraudulently acquired his lands..... So don't say we came here as legal.... we came as thieves

The Native Americans were here when the Europeans "discovered" America. I agree with your point, we all can trace our lineage to another part of the world and we SHOULD learn to be tolerant of newer immigrants as well.

THAT is a complete insult to compare our forefathers to illegal aliens. If I were you I'd have some more respect for this country, its true citizens, and what it has done for you.
