Immigration - September 2006

I ask this because to me it seems the second world war was to keep Britain 'British',... so how come that so many goverments in the UK have allowed so many non-british to move and stay here,... and now we have all the problems we do.
Make sense?
I can't help but think of all those in WWII who put their lives on the line to keep the Germans out,.. and now the goverment has willy-nilly let nearly every other nationality into our country and it's now really going downhill... this country seems to be getting more and more tense as trouble becomes more and more severe on a daily basis.
It infuriates me to know that this is going on. I'm British and bloody proud of it. What's going on Mr Blair? What happened to the immigration laws???
Do you think Britain would be a better, safer, more tolerant, law-abiding, non-fundementalist, and generally trouble free place to live if immigration back in the 1940's-1950's had been heavily restricted?
Would like to know your answers,.. from anyone.

benefits when they used a stolen social security card to obtain work?

Who is getting the shaft here? The illegal worker or the worker that had his/her social security card stolen or the taxpayer(which would be all of us)?

The democrats have stated for years social security is going bankrupt so why is the US Senate campaigning to give illegal immigrates who used stolen social security cards the same benefits are American citizens?

My friend is german and got married to an american-she have her green card now for one year.They are married now for 3 years allready.Her hussband is in the Army,he abbused her and she told the Army about it-he got even more mad and told her he take the green card from her away.So she called the german konsulat in the states and they told her that she have no chance to keep her green card when her husband wants to divorce her and they told her it would be better when she go back to germany.Her and her hussband got a child together who was born in germany.They live now in TX for one year.About the Abuse the Army don't wanna do anything against him anymore-he is a realy good Soldier and they don't see any problems.She also got x-rays from the hospital and she also reported him at the MP's.All this don't help her.Now she sit there and have no money to live and she don't have the money to move to me to PA.Who can help it's realy important to find out something positive as soon as possible!

the right thing to do is go back and start all over right? I mean, sure you have to take you kids with you and go to the back of the line, but if you want to be in this country bady, I think its worth the sacrifice. That would definitely show the US citizens that want to be here instead of pissing them off marching with flags form your home country.

"ICE spokeswoman Leticia Zamarripa said that ICE special agents now "routinely, if not daily, check facilities in the areas, including county jails, looking for foreign-born nationals to place immigration detainers on people, even those with traffic tickets. All illegal immigrants will be placed in removal proceedings."

That seems to contradict all sorts of things I've read about ICE refusing to pick up illegals detained, but maybe it is new?

Have you heard of it before?

I think deporting all of the 302,000 Homeland Security estimates will be brought into our local jail and prisons this year, who would not normally be deported, would be a huge step in the right direction.

What do you think?

i lived with Latinos for 5 years. All I would hear is white people are cold. White people don't understand family. White people have bad feelings. All the Latino families I know are chock full of infedelity, multiple fathers, domestic abuse, deadbeat fathers. many irresposible births. Family values are considering your childrens needs above your own desires. I guess the Latino culture follows the creed..."Whatever feels good must be good" I'm not racist I'm just tires of the BS racial claims being stated at immigration rallies. Makes me want to puke.

Please read the link below. I'm not trying to stir up trouble, I just want people to take a few minutes to read what immigrants REALLY get when they come to this country! I'm thinking about possibly sponsoring a couple, but I need to understand the responsibilities this would entail, including legal issues. I've read the government website, but its not much help. Could someone who knows the ins and outs of this please respond and tell me if this is a good idea or not. All the Mexicans I know try thier best to get away from other Mexicans. They express thier hate for white America but in a way they hate Mexico too. They truly want thier cake and to eat it too. Does it make a Mexican sick to thier stomach to raise an American flag instead of that Mexican symbol of disgrace? The key word here is ILLEGAL they are breaking the law!!!
Does this mean all criminals should be released they broke the law and were incarcerated.Right after 9/11 armed troops should have been stationed at our borders and use force if nessecary to stop all ILLEGALS from entering.All this talk about amnesty and worker programs is BS we already have a program its called a work visa and thats the LEGAL way to do it.
They take jobs Americans dont want is hogwash also I was unemployed for a year and I couldnt find work anywhere around here but I went to a few places and seen spanish speaking people who could barely speak english getting good paying jobs.The companies hiring these ILLEGALS should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law or maybe deported with their workers.
We need to stand up to our government and tell them we are tired of them doing everything for their gain America was built on the understanding that the people had the say so not big business or big banks.

Why a lot of racist jokes about Mexicans? When we should care more about Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist attacks. Mexicans and immigrants are working people trying to support their families. Its sad how this countries worries more about the people who is helping the economy than the guy that wishes the US would dissapear.
