Everyone is talking about how big of a deal it is to push democracy in Iraq, but I don't get it. There are tons of countries around the world that do not have a democracy, yet achieve a great level of peace, stability, and freedom (both economic and personal). The UK is a constitutional monarchy, as is Japan and many other nations. This is just an example.

So why is the US pushing Iraq into doing something most other nations don't even do? The form of government shouldn't really matter if a high-level of freedom and peace.

increasing taxes, evaporating civil rights, direct federal control over some businesses (namely microsoft), making air travel a joke because they cant profile, which is necessary against RELIGIOUS zealots. the borders arent secure and they will never be, seeing that all the illegals will get amnesty eventually, further screwing the citizens out of their jobs. not to mention the huge bills mexicans leave at our hospitals, making us pay, the loss of re venue from taxes when they work under the table, making the yoke of taxes unbearable some day very soon.... when will the people wake up ahnd realize its time to do something, theyve been being sold out for decades?

why do cigg. smokers have to subsidize everything in america? every time ya turn around, they add a tax. its not fair.

i know if i start a fire and repeatedly inhale the smoke, eventually ill get sick n die.- im ok with that.- i guess some morons got big settlements and now er'one thinks its ok to tax, tax, tax

if u or a loved one got a big settlement cuz ya smoked for years and got sick, GROW UP AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY.

ppl dont die from 2nd hand smoke, so throw that b.s. away
if ya dont like the smell, DONT ALLOW IT IN UR HOME/CAR ETC ETC.
its bad enough we cant go to restaurants or bars anymore
while i dont like that, ill go along with it willfully

but for godssakes, quit taxing us to death

How should 911 be investigated? By the Congress?...or by an Independent Commission?

911 was the political excuse and motivation for The U.S. to invade and occupy two Muslim countries. It is now the reason which Bush gives for threatening war against Iran. There are many unanswered questions. There are many who suspect that The U.S. government was involved in it. There is evidence that it was an inside job. Such as: witnesses who heard an explosion before the plane hit.
The American people have a right to know what REALLY happened! There are many unanswered questions which cry out to be answered.

Here's something I just thought of. Governments—orders of rule—today, from the beginnings of civilization, and even before were run by power-hungry, greedy, evil people who made themselves greater at another's expense, detriment, or demise.

All of them. Not one is left out. Bloodshed is plentiful on each civilization's hands. Lives were ruined and destroyed from continent to continent, ocean to ocean, all in the lust for might.

Knowing this, isn't it an impossibility that moral people, people who care and love and seek to uphold and uplift their fellow human beings, fit into governmental organizations?

Power corrupts and it is inevitable with a selfish species like humankind. The trade is rich with liars, manipulators, and cruelty.
So aren't we just hoping on the impossible? Do moral people belong in government? Should that even be expected?

They call him a holocaust denier, but Israel denys the existance of the entire Palestinian race, they say there are no Palestinians , and deny them thier basic human rights and thier right to return to thier homes. whats worse denying something that happened 50 years ago or denying something that has been going on for 50 years.
