Once elected to the Senate, the term is 6 years until they are up for re-election.

Amendments are ratified by the state legislature, after being proposed either by Congress or by the states. See Article V.

Congress is the legislative branch. They make laws.

House Representatives are determined by population.

If it is impossible to follow both federal law and state law, then federal law preempts. It if is possible to follow both state and federal law, even if they set different standards, than you must follow both.

1.) Senate candidates don't serve. Senators serve six year terms.
2.) three fourths of the states, I believe.
3.) Well, to legislate and to appropriate.
4.) Varies according to state's population. One for about every 500,000 residents. I guess that's higher now, probably over 600,000.
5.) Possible invocation of the Supremacy Clause, but would need to know more specifics.
