That's the problem, Malaki is a US appointed Sunni after the Sunni's boycotted the election in a Shiite parliament. No wonder He's having problems!

Idiots think we want to dominate. The reason for going there in the first place was to get rid of Saddam.

We would LIKE to see the Iraqi people empowered. We don't even want to be there. The people who are bucking the government at every turn want chaos. How can the Iraqi government take control of the country when they have so many repressed quarrels.

You want to blame the US? Why don't you blame the people who do NOT want the Iraqi government to work. And in case you don't know-- It's not the US. or the US government.

Lets see, Iraq elected their own government into power and they are working on fixing their country (albeit slowly) so I would say it's empowerment. I don't see how you could view what we are doing as domination.
