Are there people (not in the government) who acually think that taxes should be raise on the rich. I am poor but the government already takes over 1/3 of the money from the paycheck of the rich.
Can anyone honestly say with a straight face that someone should have to give the government over 1/3 of their paycheck in federal income tax.

Yes...he was horrible....monica lewinsky, and some other stuff but doesn't that all seem trivial when compared to what we face today...the War in Iraq, illegal immigration, high college tuition, $3.29 in gas (at least in Connecticut)...oh and the world looks at us like a joke...we aren't respected anymore in certain countries...if you weren't happy with Clinton then are you happy with Bush?

How does the government hunt down people who illegally download music. Like Music, tv shows, and movies for free. How can they hunt a person down, ruin their life, and sue them? What are their methods? How do they know who you are?

Out of the millions and millions of people in the country, do you think Bush is the #1 best person to be president? Do you think any modern president has ever been the best person for the job?

It seems like early on, there was well known people in politics who were considered by many to be some of the smartest people in the country. Now, it seems like politicians are very different from the people we consider to be our brilliant.

Follow up question: If you don't think Bush or other modern presidents are the best possible people for the job, what can we do to make it better?

It's the independence from the British Govt, right? So some die hard Americans will say "yeah cuz the dang Brits make us pay taxes at that time!" So are we not still paying taxes to the U.S. Govt instead? And if the Brits had won wouldn't we be taken care by Tony Blair as our leader instead of BUSH? So why should I celebrate?? It's not like the Brits Govt. are the Commie or anything, right?

I am not talking about quality. I am talking about delivery.

There is no doubt that we have the finest medicine in the world at least that is my opinion. But when I hear stories of people who have insurance and are dying because they are denied service and there are millions who cannot afford healthcare I have to wonder what is wrong with the system.

I just looked this up

Aetna Cigna United Healthcare
Revenue 25.61B 16.91B 73B
Gross Profit 9.84B 16.55B 17.64B
EBITDA 3.16B 2.08B 7.97B
PROFIT 1.73B 1.08B 4.2B

So three carriers in this country made 7 billion in profit last year. Should healthcare be big business and if you can't afford it then go off and die. It really makes you wonder about humanity. I am not for government controlled healthcare however I think the system is broken and needs some kind of fix.

Here's what I mean:
If you were floating in a raft or little boat with holes in it, and you were on the brink of survival, and you saw a big ship there and its Captain GW hasn't made it impossible to get on the ship unnoticed, wouldn't you risk your life to save your family and get on the big ship?
Aren't these that hate the immigrants so much the ones that would be calling for us to make all those that got on the ship to jump back in the sea?

And shouldn't the super rich that own all the cargo in the ship pay for the protection of the ship?
Tax cuts for the super rich aren't going to help pay for such a big military budget!!
And bashing the poor for trying to survive isn't exactly "Love thy neighbor." is it?

allowing companies to set up offshore to avoid American taxes???
Isn't this a form of "kiss up, kick down"
i.e., pick on someone weaker than you like a bully to make yourself feel stronger.???

Cheeses!!!
These nuts that call all democrats leftists and socialists, while they don't see that an extreme rightwinger would be fascist.

Socialism is the government controls business.
Fascism the business controls the government.
Either way they're in bed together.

Sadly, I think a lot of these (esp. lower middle class) ranting and raving against the Dems. calling us socialists might themselves actually need their Social Security and Medicaire and public schools. This isn't "socialism" like the old USSR or North Korea!
There are so many "black and white" thinkers in America it's sad.

One of the main reasons people were singing his praises was the tired old excuse of "he's standing up to George Bush". Well so effing what! This guy has all the makings of a dictator, such as:
1. Shutting down the opposition voice, i.e. closing radio and tv stations -- no more freedom of speech in Venezuela
2. Heavy arms purchases from Russia, including 100,000 AK-47's, 24 fighter jets, and some submarines
3. Sequestering private land to which the government has no right and distributing it to the poor
4. Trying to rework the constitution for unlimited terms

I have a friend visiting Venezuela from peru right now, and she says that people there are afraid to speak out about him. Every Venezuelan I talk to her in the States can't stand the guy. How funny it would be if he invites his new Russian of Chinese friends to set up military bases in Venezuela, then comes running to the U.S. for help when his guests overstay their welcome (i.e. annex Venezuelan territory)
