The most interesting question you raise is the one every answer so far has ignored.
I for one would love to see a cost comparison of the relative economic benefits and liabilities brought to our society by illegal immigrants; then compare THAT number to the amount of money removed from the US tax base by companies setting up mailboxes and answering machines in the Caymans or Bermuda while reaping the benefits of unfettered access to US markets, and the protection of US legal and law enforcement systems.
I suspect that the offshore bank accounts are at least as costly to us as are the net results of illegal immigration.

You are comparing apples and oranges. The operative word is "illegal" not immigrants. No one has any problem with the immigrants who come here legally. The ones who came here illegally harm the legal ones waiting patiently for their turn. That is not fair no matter how many sob stories you hear. Those trying to gain admittance legally have sad stories, too.
Out sourcing is by no means comparable. Some countries have natural resources such as copper or oil or iron or diamonds. Other counties have large numbers of unemployed workers. Outsourcing allows American companies to get cheap labor and foreign countries to get what to them are very good paying jobs.
Many manufacturing jobs are simple and cannot be performed in America cheaply enough to be marketable. Among such things are toys, plastic items, novelty items, gift items as well as labor intensive sports items, etc.
Of course, high fuel prices may put a stop to some of this as the cost of shipping goes up. That is how the free market works. America is already nearly at full employment.
If we need more immigrant laborers then we should get some but it must be done legally.

I do. Personally I think any company that outsources should have its CEO and board of directors tried for treason then publically executed. If that seems to hard then at least charge all their goods 15% UnAmerican tax and if a foreign company opens here give them a 10% tax cut.

Pretty much.
Its funny how they call the defeat of the immigration bill a victory, although NONE of the problems they have been complaining about have been addressed by the defeat of the bill. Add to that these problems WON'T be addressed for at least another year!
Sure, its a great victory, for the status quo, the rest of the idiots who wanted the government to do something about immigration will just have to wait another year or so.

I am against both. The way to end outsourcing though is to lower the tax burden on companies to make operating in the US an attractive alternative. The fair tax plan would help this country in many ways but no Dem would think of supporting it due to the decrease in power to government this would cause.

For my part, it's because I don't object to economic competition from immigrants - just to thier presence in my country illegally.
Afterall, it's a global market, and offshoring is legal, even if it doesn't speak well to the patriotism of the American company doing it.

most of the companies want to keep all of these illegals in the country so they can pay them so much lower. Just a way of keeping people down. Most of the people who are opposed of the illegals are also opposed to outsourceing

I don't know about others but personally I do my best to avoid doing business with a company that has outsourced.

If taxes weren't so high to pay for all the social give away programs set up by the democraps, then mayybe companies would have to "out scource". the other reason for out sourcing is cheaper labor, as the unions here are killing businesses!
