On the upside I think he is doing what he believes is best for America. Truly he believes that the correct course of action is to confront "islamofasciam" and defeat it... and he is right to do so. He also has the right idea about Social Security, what with privatizing the system which has been a horrible and expensive failure, which is doomed to collapse without intervention. He couldn't raise much support for this plan however. Free trade is expanding under Bush, what with CAFTA being passed... though this treaty is not without its loopholes that a 747 could fit through. The establishment of the Department of Homeland Security has helped to reduce some of the bureaucratic barriers within the federal government... though many of the problems with interagency communication still exist. The construction of the Anti-Balistic Missile shield is a necessary, and good development for America, given the increased threat of nuclear attack from the likes of North Korea, Iran, and Russia.
On the downside, despite claiming to be a follower of Reagan, the govenrment has expanded steadly under Bush, federalism is waining, and centralization is growing. No child left behind brings schools, which were up until reciently the last bastion of state autonomy, under the control of the Federal Government. Taxes are low, which is good for the economy, but spending is up, thereby meaning that we are coverning the loss by borrowing, which is something that will cause great problems in the not too distant future. USA PATRIOT Act is contriversial, and while it may not be being abused at this point, gives a legal framework for the exploitation of the American's basic, constitutionally enumerated rights.
A number of other pieces of legislation have made it through into law under President Bush which should not exist, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (which is making the USA less competitive for foreign investment, by creating a bureaucratic nightmare for accountants), raising the Federal Minimum wage (which makes it even harder for employers to justify hiring unskilled and young workers... and will further increase illegal immigration) and McCain-Feingold (which makes it very difficult to raise enough funds to unseat an incumbent, thereby giving a further advantage to incumbant candidates... and may be used to censor political speach, espically by blogers)... however these laws can hardly be blaimed on the President, asside from his unwillingness to oppose them. The blaim for these laws lies with instead with Congress.
So... in summation... the Presidency of George W. Bush is a mixed one... with some good things, and some not so good good things coming out. I would have to say he's batting about 500...

Ive never met the man, so I would have to say I'm indifferent. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to him as I don't wish that on anyone, but I am also more concerned with people I know to care about him on an individual level. As a leader I would have to say I am indifferent on my opinion of him also. He has botched some things up, but what president (or human being for that matter) hasn't.

.He's a knuckle head even though I voted for him twice. I don't like the amnesty thing he tried to see pushed through, but he has definitely attempted to keep the war on terror off of our shores.
However, I think he bungled the Iraq thing, and has hamstrung our military- refer to Schaufel just above me for most informative and what seems to be truth telling.

i think that he is simple minded and only thinks of how he can further the hatred towards us. yes in some ways he is a good president but he needs to think about the lives he destroys by keeping our troops over in Iraq. i think we should give them one hour to leave then bomb it and give them the meterials to start over. everyday we lose more and more of our citizens to a useless thing. yes we did what we had to do over there so why are we still there? to avenge the deaths that we caused on are own people? it is useless. he needs to get our troops out and go about it differently. the troops said that they would die to SAVE the country not die to stay in a pety dispute that the president has to keep coming up excuses for. Yes he is smart but why doesn't he show it?

Well in 2000 I voted for him because Gore is a treehugging socialist. In 2004 I voted for him because Kerry was an idiot and lost my vote. So he has been the lesser of the evils. Dems want my vote back show me somebody that is worth voting for.

I think people are overly judge mental. I mean, it is a VERY hard job, and he is trying. We should all support him. He is trying and maybe he would do better if we gave him some constructive advice rather than badly based criticism.

I try NOT to think of our President.
Instead, I think about how great it will be when he's finally out of office;
I think about all the innocent Iraqis and 3,500 U.S. soldiers he's murdered for no justifiable reason;
I think about his scandal-ridden administration and the sheer avarice, gluttony, and corruption in which he and his cronies seem to enjoy swimming;
Finally, I think that he will go down in history as America's WORST President (to date), having put taxpayers trillions of dollars in debt and destroyed America's reputation as a world leader and global peacekeeper. -RKO- 06/29/07
