Yes...he was horrible....monica lewinsky, and some other stuff but doesn't that all seem trivial when compared to what we face today...the War in Iraq, illegal immigration, high college tuition, $3.29 in gas (at least in Connecticut)...oh and the world looks at us like a joke...we aren't respected anymore in certain countries...if you weren't happy with Clinton then are you happy with Bush?

I think some of the reasons why you guys said Bush was better, is because Bush had a Republican Congress for most of his term until recently...there was a Republican Congress when Clinton was president...so of course the stuff he tried to accomplished was shot down by The GOP...
And that whole Monica Lewinsky thing...is crap...Newt Gingrich recently said he was having an affair during the whole Lewinsky Scandal...what a contridiction...

Yes, it was good times. How does the Monica Lewinsky scandal compare now to our war in Iraq?

If Clinton was President we wouldn't be in Iraq. Bush was planning this before he even got into office.

Illegal immigration is not new. It only became acceptable to complain about it publicly recently.

College tuition goes up in price because everything else goes up in price. It's part of inflation.

High gas, you got that right. I want to see what happens after Bush and Cheney leave office.

We lost the world's respect when we went into Iraq. The world was with us for Afghanistan, but not for Iraq. Bush pretty much helped ruin Tony Blair's career by abusing our friendship with England and getting Blair and England to back up the U.S.'s weapons of mass destruction theory.

I didn't live in the USA until 2001 so, although the UK covers American politics fairly well, all I have of Clinton is an outsider's view.

Leaving aside the Lewinsky affair, he seems to have done reasonably. He might have shown greater leadership in the Balkans, but I suppose he had a lot of juggling to do - everyone and his dog wanted a say in that one. His economic success must be viewed in the light of the world economy at the time. He cannot take all the credit.

As for Bush, my biggest concern is that he does not demonstrate any respect for the Constitution. I know one could argue that successive Supreme Courts have done the same, but one could equally argue that they were only doing their job.

In short, I look forward to the time when there is mutual respect between President and Congress. I do not think we will see it under the current President or, indeed Congressional leadership.

Politics are politics are politics. The only thing that changes is the names. My generation had Viet Nam and before that was Korea and before that was WWII.

As for what the world thinks, I live my life my way not to please others. I think that we need to be a country the same way. We are out to do what we think is right not what makes some other country happy.

My opinion is do not look to the press to form your opinions. For longer than I have been alive the press has loved liberals and made fun of consevatives. Some of the love and some of the jokes has been deserved. Some not. Look at their performance based on facts not rhetoric in the media. Take gas prices in the early 70's we may have been paying 40 cents a gallon while most of the world was over 2 dollars a gallon. Now we are much closer to what the rest of the world pays for gas. We just had a break for year and years that the rest of the world did not have. Before you start degrading your own country, live abroad for a while. If you still think there is a better place to live then by all means, go ahead.

I'll say this, MY life was better when Clinton was President. Engineering jobs were plentiful, government had enough money to operate and people had enough money to live their lives. Under Bush we all got a whopping 300 bucks (oo let me RUN to the bank with that), which costs us a budget surplus, and, like under Regan and Bush I, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Bush has brought back the "Ole Boys Network" with a vengence and they are all laughing their way to the bank. The economy still stinks, it's better than it was when he took over, and it's about damn time, but it still stinks.

Let's see:
Clinton lied to Congress about an adulterous sexual liaison between two consenting adults.
But, he left office with a budget surplus.

Bush lied to Congress about 'weapons of mass destruction'; lied about secret CIA prisons; condoned torture and sexual abuse of 'detainees' at AbuGhraib; presides over a scandal-infested administration; has put American taxpayers TRILLIONS of dollars in debt; illegally and unconstitutionally started a 'war' with another nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the U.S.; continues with runaway spending on an immoral and unjustifiable 'war'; and is responsible for the deaths of 675,000 Iraqis and 3,500 U.S. soldiers.

I'd have to say Clinton was the better President. -RKO- 06/29/07

When Bill Clinton was president there was peace for the most part. Clinton, not only was a president, but an ambassador as well. He could communicate and negotiate with other leaders of other countries and keep peace. Poor ole President Bush just ain't got that sort of charm and charisma. He got us into this Iraq war, and I am afraid before he leaves office he'll probably start a few more for our young boys to have to fight and die for. Love our troops!

Other than the hoopla over the Lewinski thing where two consenting adults did something they shouldn't and one got jealous she couldn't have the other for her own and blabbed about it, I believe Clinton was a pretty good president. He could have been better but he had a hostile congress to deal with too so all things considered the did okay.

No.

"War in Iraq" - Did you forget about Bosnia?

"illegal immigration" - you think this is a problem that just started recently?

" the world looks at us like a joke" - umm-hmm, and who's flag is it that's planted upon the moon? remind me again

"we aren't respected anymore in certain countries" - really? well, too bad because I don't respect them either (never really did)

"are you happy with Bush?" - on the whole, yes. my income is up, my taxes are down. terrorists have been getting slain by the truckload. Other than Bush's shamnesty plan, he's my guy (hey, no one's perfect)

I hate them both, and seeing pictures of Bush I, Bush II and Bill Clinton all hanging out together only confirms my suspicions that we're all being played as pawns.
