No one won. You are right. Now there is NOTHING in place to stem the tide of illegal immigration, and there is NOTHING in place to help immigrants that are already here. No one gets anything. Personally, I think it is kind of funny. A lot of people have been on here preaching against that bill, and not one of them had a decent alternative idea, and now those people are STILL getting what they don't want. The joke is on them.

The bill had no meat to it anyway. The bill as drafted was much like most things that Teddy 'the drunk' Kennedy brings up on the hill. Weak and meaningless. How many illegals could have even afforded amnesty?

Much like the rest of the bills the Dems have gotten off the ground, since they took over, it was never meant to pass just inflame the American public. What really is sad is so many people keep buying into these partisan ploys.

Well, we won in that we kept a horrible, country-destroying bill from being passed. However, we lost in that we probably will not get any solutions until after the election next year. President Bush, throwing a temper-tantrum, said as much.

I doubt if we'll get anything done until we see a SERIOUS change in the make-up of the government. BOOT OUT THOSE WHO SUPPORTED AMNESTY!!! (And yes, those include Obama and Shillary Rotten Clinton)

The vote was whether to cut off debate. In other words, the vote did nothing but keep the debate going rather then bring it up for passage. It was a cowardly way for our Senators to give themselves an out and avoid taking a real stand.

All the news reports say the bill is dead, but it is still there, alive and kicking, just waiting for the next election. Then they can vote the way they want instead of what the PEOPLE want.

No, the blocking of the Amnesty bill forestalled a victory on the behalf of the 12 million illegal aliens occupying America, but was in no way a victory for those trying to defend against them.

Well the anti-immigrant groups have not won anything other than retaining the status quo. They will not get a bill passed anytime soon.

The immigrants remain in a legal state of limbo with no solution to the problem. 12 million people are here and will not heading home anytime soon.
