These nuts that call all democrats leftists and socialists, while they don't see that an extreme rightwinger would be fascist.

Socialism is the government controls business.
Fascism the business controls the government.
Either way they're in bed together.

Sadly, I think a lot of these (esp. lower middle class) ranting and raving against the Dems. calling us socialists might themselves actually need their Social Security and Medicaire and public schools. This isn't "socialism" like the old USSR or North Korea!
There are so many "black and white" thinkers in America it's sad.

You're right, a dictator is a dictator regardless of ideology. Dems are socialists in a sense, but not the socialist we've read and heard about that took over all those countries in the 70s. There are degrees of socialism. The right doesn't oppose social security, medicare, or public schools. They oppose the mismanagement of them by a left that seems to think dumping money on a problem is a good fix. An entitlement mentality is what the lower middle class are against. They are against people drawing benefits they are not willing to work for but expect to have access to.
