I am researching Malawi, which is located in South Africa. I am researching the African market to see if it would be profitable to export solar refrigeration units. The people of Malawi are poor and in dyer need of a place to store the food they need in order to survive. I need to address the following topics: Basic need potential, Import restrictions, Price controls, and government and public attitude toward buying American products. Another option is to export soil conditioners.

A contractor we hired is suing us. He sent a number of threatening emails, and in the last he said "And just in case you can't read it I am suing you for $1,000 instead of $568! You had your chance!" Attached to the email was a copy of his notarized claim suing us for $1,000. About a week later we received notice from the clerk of court that we were indeed being sued... for $4,000!!! Enclosed with the notice was their copy of his claim. He CHANGED the 1 to a 4 AFTER he notarized the claim form. Is this legal?

My husband is in hospital tonight, and it just reminded me of how much we take for granted the professionalism, dedication and sacrifice others make on our behalf. Some are paid. But not enough. Some are volunteers, and that shames Government, but restores our faith in human nature. I work with the Police force and acknowledge their dedication, the very difficult job they do, for little thanks. We take so much for granted.

Will you join with me in a prayer of thanksgiving for those who serve us?

Reagan's Foreign Policy

Ronald Reagan's reputation in some quarters as a fast-draw, shoot-from-the-hip hard-liner is not borne out by the data. Quite the contrary. Reagan exhibited remarkable prudence and, some believe, uncanny long-term vision.

Case in point: September 1, 1983, a South Korean passenger jet was shot down by the Soviet Union, killing all 269 aboard, including 55 Americans. An outcry for retaliation against the Evil Empire erupted.

Presidential Counselor Michael Deaver describes Reagan's reaction: “He said, `Fellas, I've heard all of this, but let me tell ya, we're not gonna do anything.' And I was stunned. Here was a guy who had the best chance in 40 years to do whatever he wanted to do to the Soviets.

And then he said, `The world's gonna make a judgment about them. We don't have to. What we have to do is keep our long- term interests in mind here.’”

This is just a long shot and I don't know the laws. I am a single mother and I am working at the state hospital. When I approached my nurse manager months ago, I told her my situation in that I had no family support, or from the father of my baby. I said that I would have to quit and look for another job, so that I could put the baby in daycare and have regular hours (no weekends/nights/holidays) I have worked as a nurse for many years and have lot of experience. they said that if they could accomodate me, would I consider staying. I said yes. Well, now that's all gone out the window and they are saying I have to come back sooner then planned and that I will have to work 12 hr shifts, weekends and holidays. I realize it is not their job to fix my problem, but I could have quit before and had another job. I am looking and have applied. i will get something else, but I'm so angry that they expect me to do this. I did not plan on being a single mom, it just happened, my ex screwed me over
