It would seem with how radical he is, that not having this stance is almost out of character.

Yes, but it's IN the Bible.

Since when has Huckabee ever differentiated between moral personal beliefs and legal political beliefs?

2007-12-18 13:44:38 · update #2

Wade-Mike Huckabee is outspoken on issues that especially involve the Bible, particularly social issues, so these too should be issues he should consider to uphold his own beliefs.

No, but sarcasm isn't understood enough. And I'm a CONSERVATIVE!!

2007-12-18 13:48:02 · update #4

The Constitution only requires that the Congress not establish a national church, the states can, there is no separation of church and state, that was mentioned once in a letter by Thomas Jefferson.

And since when has the Constitution stopped Presidents from enforcing their religious beliefs down our throats? Does anyone remember a certain ammendment to define marriage? Huh?

>Perhaps he isn't stupid...perhaps a bit overdone from bible thumping, but not totally ignorant of the way things really are.<

Wow... Do you know what a radical is? If you do then can you really call Huckabee a radical? You might want to Google it just to fully understand its meaning. Mike Huckabee is the opposite, he is a Traditionalist.

As for your question.... Are you serious? Do you really think there is ever going to be a president that outlaws divorce? A president will force two people to stayed married, no matter what the circumstances are? That's ridiculous.

I understand what you're saying, about him being outspoken on issues regarding the Bible. But that is the root of his campaign. He is a Baptist minister and he is trying to appeal to the Christian Conservatives, because those are going to be his strongest supporters. And just because he makes his religion a focal point of his election run, doesn't mean that he should entangle all of his stances on the message of the Bible. If he did that he'd never get elected. Plus, this day in age its kind of naive to think that it would be a good idea to make divorce illegal.

Divorce is a good thing in the sense that you'd rather a divorce than ending up stuck with some one that you don't love and its a choice if your an atheist or agnostic than its not against anything for you and if your against it because of a religion than don't do it just don't force religious views on other people (like how people don't think gay marriage is right because of some religious thing its there choice just let them do that and i feel that its none of our buissness what other people do)

Fornication wow so what if unmarried people have sex if they are protected know what could happen than they have all rights to have intercourse with some one again what does it do to affect you or other people in the world not much to nothing its another religious thing and with so many atheists and agnostics now a days they don't really care.

To add to your question why don't you add sodomy in there since its the act of having sex for non mating purposes

How about a little document called "The Constitution", which mandates a separation of religious beliefs from political practices?
How about the fact that legislating morality leads only to behavior that is BOTH immoral and illegal?
How about because the enforcement of strict laws serves only to cause people to break those laws?

The problem with a lot of people when it comes to someone with religious beliefs and convictions(unlike most politicians who use religion to get poll votes) is that they believe the person will force a theocracy on society.
I am sure he would fight to over turn roe vs. wade and some other things, but it is the parents responsibility to "police" their children, NOT the governments, and also, as far as divorce goes, sometimes it is necessary when one is being abused.
As far as suffering for those things you mentioned, keep in mind MANY people DO suffer for them. The girl who is under 18 that gets to hear the words "it aint mine",the wife whose husband tells her, "I have aids, I was unfaithful", the kids of divorces who live with one parent and visit the other, the kids growing up in a single parent home who usually go to jail while momma drags them from one broken relationship to another.
Theres a LOT of people paying the penalty for this kind of behavior and its society as a whole that is paying the price.

Divorce is authorized interior the Bible. Homosexuality is condemned. this is so elementary as an answer it takes to bump your question. actuality is that for the time of maximum states gay marriage is against the regulation. I even have little to no say whether or no longer this is criminal, consequently this is out of my arms. even whether this is legalized i won't be able to accept as true with it, yet i think of abortion is a much extra urgent concern, whether non-touching on on your question.

Because quite frankly he couldn't care. His whole shpeel about 'bringing back the morality of America' is garbage, he couldn't care. He's such a hypocrite about things, he wants morality and yet he condones isolating everyone with AIDS and calls it a gay disease...that's why if we EVER have President Huckabee I'm moving to Canada.

I am sure you are just another liberal trying your best to bash this great leader. Pretty bad..you cant even bash what he is doing, you bash what he hasn't done. No body is buying your rhetoric. We like Huckabee as he is pro life and against same sex marriage.
