...your wages would go up (smaller labor pool), your taxes would go down (smaller welfare roles, etc), your rent would decrease (less over-crowding), the traffic would die down, some hospitals could re-open, and the schools would be less crowded?

If not here it is:
There will be No yearly taxes to file. No tax audits. No more taxing based solely on income.

We would have a set sales tax instead. How much taxes you pay will be based on how much you spend. Middle and lower class who spend primarily on needs with occasional splurges would not pay as much as the upper class that spend outrageous amounts on luxury items.

If you don't spend alot, you don't pay alot. You'll never have to file taxes and you'll get all of your paycheck without all the withholdings you have now.

What do you think of this? I see only good so I would like someone to point out what would be the bad side. Please don't say you won't get that big check each year, all that check is a percentage what they took from you during the rest of the year.

Say, if his health is at stake?

We have a bad situation here with my husband's unit. They dragged their feet on TDY paperwork, which caused my husband's appointment at Walter Reed to be canceled (an appointment that took almost two months to get in the first place).
They also seem to think, despite several doctors saying otherwise, that he's "faking" his condition (epilepsy), based on a PA's "theories"...like that a person can fake a grand mal seizure.
When, if ever, would it be appropriate for me to step in and say something? And who should I speak to?

I am a new landlord and have three tenants in my home that have caused close to $6k in damage due to an improper hook up of the washer. After my property manager showed the tenants details of the damage, including statements from both the restoration contrator and pumbler pointing to the washer area as the root cause. I also included thermal images from the contractor showing the water originated directly under the washer unit (they installed) leaking onto the first floor ceiling. They claim it is not their issue and do not want to pay for deductable and plumber fees I payed out. What are my next steps. I don't have a problem taking them to small claims court. Can I take them to court after their lease is over (6 months from now). I rather not do it now for fear that they may damage the house even more to retaliate.

We have soldiers risking their lives for Iraq but God forbid George Bush put anyone near our borders to prevent terrorists from sneaking in.
Why does this not make sense?????


For those who say the 911hijackers didnt come thru our borders illegally, whats your point?

I moved to Texas from California awhile ago and still can't get over the fact that Texas doesn't mail ballots to voters before Election Day. In California, you get information on exactly who you can vote for, what the propositions mean, etc. Why isn't this done in Texas? Can this be changed?

Now I wrote a question concerning Agriculture and farmin yesteday and I'll be pickled in beet juice if some people didn't say that those BIG farms who recieve them there farm subsidies didn't need illegals because they gets paid to not grow crops. Well evidently some of them there farmers does grow crops or else what in tarnation would they be needin farm hep for? So I guess we pay fer the illegals AND pay them there farmers. Boy they shore do make a swindle on that don't they?

I know they let the Cubans stay in America when they arrive on land. But Haiti is WAY WORST than Cuba and some Haitians even have to find refuge in Cuba!!! I'm not saying that they shouldn't let the Cubans stay. I have no opinion on this matter. I just want to know what you all think. Should they let the Haitians stay since they let the Cubans in or should they send the Haitians back?
