I know they let the Cubans stay in America when they arrive on land. But Haiti is WAY WORST than Cuba and some Haitians even have to find refuge in Cuba!!! I'm not saying that they shouldn't let the Cubans stay. I have no opinion on this matter. I just want to know what you all think. Should they let the Haitians stay since they let the Cubans in or should they send the Haitians back? Please do not base your answers on current immigration laws because I want YOUR opinion and not the government's. Tell me what you think.

If they let the Cubans in, then they should let the Haitians in too.You see, most of the people that have answered this question so far seem not to really know the difference between a political refugee and and an economic refugee. Most of the Mexicans entering this country are economic refugees. It is their extreme poverty not their government (or lack thereof in the case of the Haitians) that is oppressing like the Cubans or Haitians. Economic refugees have it hard and I feel sympathy for them but political refugees have little or no way of escaping their hardships except by coming here. Even Lou Dobbs recognized the inequality of letting in the Cubans and excluding the Haitians and I've even heard some Cubans say it was unequal and wrong also. So yes, if you're going to let one kind of political refugee in, you must let them all come.

P.S.To some of the other answerers: It is a great thing to be a nationalist but if you can only answer questions from one point of view and cannot be open-minded or cannot consider the whole situation at hand, you need to then broaden your perspective.

Yes. If we want to support Haitians that need support, we can do that for perhaps 30,000 a year in this country... perhaps 5,000 a year in Haitia.

Most Haitians, Mexican Nationals, Guatamalan Nationals, and Asian Island Nationals, do NOT have the education to deal with this countries jobs. They can get menial jobs and apply for welfare.. or they can go home and make their own countries far, far better.

It would seem to be clear to me that this country cannot take all the folks from all the poor countries in, and take care of them. The cost with what we have now will be some 2.4 trillion dollars in welfare for the illegal aliens we already have in this country, and we cannot afford that. We must send the illegal aliens home... they must make their own countries better.

This country looks like it has a lot of room. It does not. The water shortage in Georgia may never go away and that circumstance is already in place in communities along the Texas Border and all through the Midwest. Go to Lubbock Texas and you discover all they have left to drink is gypsom water, and it tasts terriable.

Anyone who is here illegally should be sent back to their country of origin. There are problems all over the world, should we just let everyone come to the United States? The United States needs to stop worrying about fixing problem's in other countries and start focusing on the problems affecting us here.

Neither US law, nor the International Convention on Refugees, permits "economic refugees" to get refugee status. In other words, just because you come from a poor country does not make you a refugee.

In any case, immigration laws ought to apply equally to everyone regardless of country of origin. Except, of course, when we Canadians get US citizens claiming refugee status. They are usually one step ahead of the law, or wanted by military justice for desertion and the like. It is my opinion that Americans should be automatically denied. The USA is not Iran, and it is not Uganda.

Again illegal is illegal. I don't care if the illegal is Cuban, Haitian, Mexican, Canadian, French, German,Turkish, etc. It does not matter. If a person comes here illegally that person should be deported. He should be sent home as quickly and cheaply as possible.

Since I don't agree with the Cuban policy I have to say yes. Send them home.

As a Native American I think you should all be deported. I don't remember any tribes registering any of you people at the boarder, nor did you respect the laws and customs of this land. Okay, my opinion. Realistically, if we close the borders to one, we close them to ALL, which might be a good idea. You cannot base who you allow in on race! Sheesh!
There is nothing worse than people having to take pay cuts because some illegal is willing to work for half of what a citizen works for. We are losing our jobs, AND allowing greedy corperations to profit from their greed with cheap labor rather than forcing them to pay a living wage, we are allowing in people who HATE US and want to blow up our buildings and schools, and our social service system is taxed to its carrying capacity. If American politicians gave a crap about AMericans, they would shut the borders NOW and use the resources they spend on immigrants to help Americans living in poverty now. MY MAMA ALWAYS SAID CLEAN UP YOUR HOUSE BEFORE INVITING COMPANY OR THE CABLE GUY INSIDE!!!

Wow, you are such a bigot! I can't believe you'd even post such a prejudice question.

What difference does it make if the immigrants come from Haiti or Cuba or England? The government should either deport or grant visas without racial prejudice.

first and top-rated, u.s. desires those unlawful immigrants. it relatively is why they're putting in place classes to allow them amnesty, and at a destiny date, to allow day workers to head the border and paintings interior the U. S.. Many, if no longer maximum,of the roles taken via the unlawful immigrants are jobs that individuals can no longer or will do. Secondly, I very much doubt that Mexicans might kill individuals in Mexico if individuals staged a protest. inspite of the reality that what they might protest approximately, i will't think of. Retired individuals stay the existence of Riley in many areas of Mexico, stretching their American pensions to stay like Mexican consumers.

What part of illegal don't you understand? If it is illegal, then they should not be here, I don't care what country they come from. If the country they are from is repressive, then there are ways to get here legally.

Its illegal to kill people, and its illegal to be here without a green card. Both are equally wrong and both deserve prosecution under the law.
