It's no different then smoking a full pack of cigarettes. Why not legalise it and tax it with the cigarette tax already in place? Then they can make it in a pack of pre-rolled "marijuana cigarettes" without filters. LOL I'd smoke again if it were legal, but laws right now won't let me smoke. Contrary to most belief marijuana is only a "gateway" drug if you "experiment" with harsher drugs after using it. Do you think more kids would be using it everyday if it were LEGAL? I mean a 12 year old is more likely to buy it ilegally from someone on the streets then to get someone to buy for them if it means they can't buy "marijuana cigarettes" again. Plus this is all a way for the government to have us by the perpetual balls.

why not? not only would it be good for the economy but it would give the government something else to raise taxes on other then my cigarettes!! I agree to legalizing Marijuana, everyone will be happier. we will not be waisting tax dollars to incarcerate people who get caught having it! the government will get there share in taxes! there are several good reasons to legalize marijuana. If marijuana is so bad then why do they use it for treatment of cancer patents and people with HIV? Marijuana has never been proven to cause health problems, addition, or crime! I believe if we all smoked a little every now and then, we would have less crime, less depression, less debate over the stupid s-hit cause we would all be happy!!!! How many people feel like doing anything after smoking much less go out and commit crime! how many people do you know that smoke are depressed? I know of none( no worries right), and who cares about the color of the skin or the religion of the man next to you as long as he sticks with the rule PUFF PUFF PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I believe it should be legalized. I believe it should be legalized because of the following facts and because marijuana helps me a lot...

I have been smoking for only two years now, and have come to realize that the only bad side effects of it are, umm, errrr, well I can't think of any at the moment but let me get back to you on that one. I am not stupid, I am not unmotivated, I can hold a job, I am not violent, but rather positive, I don't hurt anyone and actually help someone by buying their marijuana, etc.

It has never killed ANYONE in the history of mankind and you cannot overdose it.

Anyone who has, had, or know someone who has/had cancer, knows how hard chemotherapy is. Marijuana is proven to help chemotherapy patients immensely by making them hungry, stopping nausea, happy (because cancer is a bummer), and other various beneficial "symptoms."

I have insomnia, asthma, tremors, depression (used to), and chronic pains etc. Marijuana has helped me with all of these and has not added anything to the list. I am not harming anyone else and am not harming myself. The government has no right to tell me that I can't put something into my own body, because we all are our own person, and don't deserve any governing that controls us.

Marijuana is also not a drug, it's a plant. Chemicals are drugs, and the government/medical field makes plenty of 'em. All the "hard" drugs (heroin, crack, etc.) that plague this planet [because THEY ARE HARMFUL to your body] were invented by scientists and then introduced to the government. They all started out as good things, and then were discovered to be very harmful. Marijuana is a plant that grows from the ground, and even though I am atheist, "God" did put everything on this planet and put herb on this planet to help us.

There are plenty of plants that are actually deadly. Even some of the most beautiful plants can kill you and your pets. But are they illegal? No. Marijuana is illegal, but has never killed anyone. Tobacco kills hundreds of thousands of people every year but is legal. The government spends your hard earned money on catching smokers that at the most, bag your groceries wrong huh?

Tobacco smokers know that smoking it (tobacco) is bad. They can't do anything about it though because tobacco is addictive. Marijuana is known not to be addictive. I go sometimes a month without smoking marijuana and I don't freak out, I don't get all stressed, I don't go on a frenzy trying to find just a little weed. No. I just wait till it comes around again, and until then, oh well. Yeah, I can live without it, it's not hard at all. But smoking marijuana makes life a lot easier and smokers find that life is so much more enjoyable while on and off marijuana.

Hemp (doesn't flower and barely any THC) can be used to make oil, paper, clothes, rope, sheets, plastics, and sooooo many other things that we use everyday. We wouldn't need to cut down any more trees because it takes less hemp than trees to make the same amount of paper. We wouldn't need to rely on other countries for oil, and it would be a hell of a lot more cheaper. It actually doesn't make sense to me at all that it is illegal because the government would make millions of dollars by taxing it. And trust me, I would have no problem going to 7-Eleven and buying a pack of pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes and paying a couple extra bucks just so the government will be happy.

We probably could afford to have free health care across the nation if we legalized because the gov. would have all the money that they wouldn't be spending on fighting "the war," and also all the tax money they could make on taxing marijuana sales.

The government CAN tax it. What they would do is make the private sale of marijuana illegal, but industrial sale not illegal. That means you can't buy it from your drug dealer, but a 7-ELEVEN, and the government could tax it just like cigarettes.

You don't have to smoke it, just don't have pre-conceived notions about it, and don't listen to just one side. It does help people, it does not harm people.

There's my two cents.

of course. If alchohol, cirgarettes and chocolate are legal, marijuana should be as well.

Between the taxes it could generate and the money spent "fighting" marijuana, you could send every child in America to an Ivy League school for free. Trillions upon trillions have been spent over the past 50 years fighting this so called "horrible gateway drug". But you know, stopping pot-heads is way more important than educating our children.

Absolutely! It does not cause cancer (this is a FACT), and is a crime against no one. The government is following the liquor lobby, and doesn't like anyone to enjoy an "altered" state, as it frees one's mind to question their retarded decisions. I mean seriously, do you think Bush would do a worse job if stoned? I doubt it's possible. OVERGROW THE GOVERNMENT!! Support Marc Emery in his fight for freedom of thought. Support the thousands of non-criminals incarcerated by the fear mongering politicians in the U.S.A.
