I tried to have a check made out to my husband cashed today. He is depolyed and I have power of attorney. The bank said they are refusing my power of attorney and he would need to be present to cash the check. I advised them he is deployed and they still denied it. I need to cash this since we have no money at the present and it seems to me that power of attorney is the same as having him there. Any ideas on what to do or who to call. Im waiting for a JAG to call me back per the FRG.

According to factcheck.org - Bush #40 actually began the large defense cutbacks.

Measured in what economists call "constant dollars," adjusted for inflation, defense spending declined by nearly 15 percent between Reagan's last budget (for fiscal year 1989) and the elder Bush's last budget four years later. The decline was just under 13 percent between Bush's last budget and Clinton's final fiscal year (2001). In other words, the buying power of the dollars spent for defense declined more during Bush's four years than during Clinton's eight.

495: Deserving poor may beg in own parish.
1531: Deserving poor need a license from their JP to beg in own parish.
1536: People told to give money to church officials who will give to the most deserving.
1547: The parish must find homeless deserving poor a place to live, a collection for the poor is taken after church on Sunday, no one has to give.
1552: Licensed beggars may go from door to door in their own parish but they must not sit outdoors and beg.
1563: If people do not give money to the Sunday collection for the poor, they have to explain why not to their JP. If they don't have a good reason, they can be locked up. Only disabled people with a license are allowed to go from door to door begging. Others have to rely on alms from parish.
1597: Overseers of the poor are appointed to look after the poor. The parish officials set a poor rate. If someone does not pay, the overseers can take their possessions to the value of the poor rate and sell them to get the money.

II: Vagrants:
1495: Vagrants to be punished in the stocks for 3 days.
1531: Vagrants to be whipped.
1536: Vagrants make to work on jobs like road repairs.
1547: Vagrants could be forced to work as slaves (this law was cancelled in 1549 because it was considered too harsh).
1572: Vagrants over 14 were to be whipped and have a hole made in their right ear the first time they were caught. Caught again, they could be put in prison, even hanged.
1576: Houses of Correction (Bridewells) set up where vagrants were forced to live and work.
1597: Vagrants whipped and sent back to county where they had last lived. Vagrants who kept getting caught were sent overseas to work in the colonies.

she is in rotc a great program at her school. recently she went on a trip with the school & met a military guy who told her he was a recruit he then pursued her until she eventually started having SEX with him.yes she is 18 but my problem is first of all she is 18 years old with a mind of a 12 year old he is MARRIED & has CHILDREN of his own what can be done legally besided reporting it to his commanding officer because thats the first thing tahts going to happen tomorrow morning! what i want is legal action taken against him for taking advantage of her! advice please it would be greatly appreciated!

Do you believe there will ever come a time when the people are actually happy with the United States Government regardless of what political party holds the White House? Where good honest men and women are in a position of authority. If not, why? What do you believe are neccessary steps that must be taken to get there, and what on earth can we do as citizens to help this all happen. If you're from Michigan and a 15 year old and a 17 year old kiss.. is that considered rape on the 17 year old's part? What if the 15 year old gave consent, what if they did things but not sex? Could the 17 year old get in trouble? Please let me know, what is considered illegal as in minor sexual acts...etc.. I know that a 16 year old is the legal age for sex, but a 17 year old is still a minor, so would anything be considered illegal? PLease give me lots of details on these questions +more! thank you..

we lost millons of lives decideing to draw a line against nazism in Poland and then allow them to be opressed by the USSR for 40 years and now we bregrudge them coming here to work (largely legally) seems to defy logic what ever you feel about immigration

So I'm watching t.v., and they are discussing paternity fraud. Basically when someone has an affair and the other party is unknowing and then they are forced to pay child support. They are discussing two sides. This man unknowingly raised another man's child for 10 years and then they got divorced. It was brought to his attention that the child might now be his. He got a paternity test and the child was not his. Yet the courts basically said that he had already started raising the child so he needed to finish and keep paying child support. The didn't suggest that the woman find the real father. I don't think that a man should have to continue to pay child support for a child that is not his. If he voluntarily does it, that a different story. But why should he have to pay for the other party's deceit? Why should he have to raise another man's child? What is your point of view?
