I don't know. At first, I thought that US corporations would move to Mexico where labor is cheaper, but if that's the case, why are so many Mexicans sneaking into the US to look for work?

Also, it seems a majority of the lost jobs are actually going to Asian countries, like China and India. Since they are not covered in NAFTA, the blame must lie somewhere else.

No, greed of corporate America is causing the loss of jobs. People have a tendency to blame the workers for the woes of companies. Lets look at the auto industry. CEO of General Motors, millions in guaranteed earnings. Toyota in the USA, 600,000 for CEO. CEO of GM, 20 million dollars in stock options per year. Options worth many millions of dollars. CEO of Toyota, no stock options. And that is just the CEO. There are quite a few lesser officers of GM that are receiving millions in pay & stock options. And thats from a corporation that is losing money. How much does all that money going to a very few people add to the price of an automobile? GREED, the main problem with American businesses!

Partly yes. Another main cause is companies moving factories out of the US to save a buck despite the problems that causes (i.e. Mattel and China).

No. Americans are causing Americans to lose jobs. For example, look at labor unions. They are asking unreasonable wages for positions that do not deserve them. This causes businesses to look to other options for labor. Also, Americans have an unrealistic view of work. We are in a global economy, in which our business have to compete. If we do not adapt to the rest of the world, we will be left behind.

In a world where the economy is integrated, companies will move to places where workers have fewer protections and are paid less.

So, unless the workers in the USA are willing to forego unions, packages and high salaries, expect for more and more jobs to leave for Asia and Latin America.

Yea!

We need the North American Union so we can all work where we want and won't have to worry about someone from south of the border taking our job because we'll get theirs.

Yes it is. I hope the next Clinton in the Whitehouse can reverse the trend.

Yes and so is the WTO.

It's a big reason I like Dennis Kucinich.
