Regardless of whether or not you believe that the books are "polluting America's values" there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to burn a book. If you really want to know some of the consequences of burning books you should read Fahrenheit 451. It shows how the world could be ruined if that was done. And why would you want to burn a book anyway? Books hold knowledge that will help the world. I feel obliged to say I do not respect this question in the least. It is your decision not to read a book, but you can't make that decision for everybody!

"Stupid lib garbage"? And you're accusing those authors of being that? Clearly you've never read real "lib garbage".

There are a lot of books out I don't like or agree with, but I'm not out there with a torch stealing books from people and telling them what they are or aren't allowed to read.

Books aren't polluting American values. It's the people who think they can solve the country's problems by burning books that are polluting America's values.

Arthur Rowling?

No. We should let ideas proliferate, including the un-PC.

Let the liberals burn the Teddy Roosevelt textbooks in California, etc, and demand mind control instead of education.

We'll take the high road for freedom of speech.

No. This is what YOU think--what if we burned books just because someone thought they were polluting American values? Some people might think the Bible is doing that, so is it okay to burn the Bible?
Also, burning books is censorship, and taking away our freedom of speech and freedom to read would be taking away a vital part of our humanity and human rights.

One of the wonderful things about living in a free-thinking society is that you learn to defend a person's right to say something completely idiotic -- like the nonsense you have suggested -- because you know that doing so strengthens the society's ability to resist totalitarianism.

The only thing more frightening than the anti-intellectual crap you espouse is a well-meaning but wrong-headed attempt to silence it.

Please...say more. You wear your ignorance well!

And oh...by the way: It's CHOMSKY, you fool!

Yeah, you gotta watch those arthurs. Godfrey, for instance, boy that was a pinkolib uke playing pansy. Chromsky - very similar to Stalin (man of steel?). Now there's a guy called Chomsky, and he is a dummy but that must be someone else.

I'm a conservative and I'm not for banning books any more than I was for banning music when Al Gore's wife pushed for it back in 1984. I realize your trying to pretend to be a conservative but you're just not very good at it. Come out of the closet and be the flaming lib you know you want to be.
