No all they hope for is for all Liberals to leave the United States. They believe that Liberals hate America but they are wrong. How can you love America and prop up George Bush at the same time? If you loved America you would do what is right for your country and ask for George Bush's resignation immediately.
I don't know about Conservatives but I will give you my viewpoint. Gay marriage should be outlawed so should homo's. Abortion is OK for the individual as long as they don't use it as a form of contraception. Religion is obsolete in today's world and therefore should be wiped from the face of the planet. Government programs are needed for those who need them most ie the poor. I think all nation's have a responsibility to look after all people who live in that nation to make sure they have adequate basics needed to survive.

Political commentators keep insisting that conservatives are 'on the right,' and 'the right wing.' ;)
Seriously, though, conservatives value tradition and distrust change. It's not a difficult mindset to fathom. If your society has done pretty well up to the point that you from your opinion of it, then sticking to what's been working well would seem to make sense. How and individual percieves the value of his own society, is, of course, skewed by perception. You can assume that conservatives probably had, at some point, a very positive view of their country, and that thier motive is to preserve (or return to) that vision of the nation.
Thus, they feel that thier way is the 'right' (correct) way, because, in the past, thier way demonstrably succeeded, while the new/untested/radical ideas of thier liberal rivals have no such track record, and may, in fact, be 'dangerous.'

Every group whether liberal, conservative, or others think their way is the right way...its just human nature. I think there are many closed minded people on both sides of issues, however, i do think that conservatives try and push their beliefs on others more so than liberals, but again, i think this is just how people are. If I feel I am right about an issue, i give very little and so on...this is why i rarely talk politics with people who have largely opposing views to my own, because it nearly ends in a fight because neither side give. I think most people are passionate for one side or the other and then there are the swing type voters who don't get too angry either way. By the way, I have heard several conservatives lately say that Bush is an idiot, so they are coming around finally to realizing this.

Everybody feels that way. Libs believe much the same way. Everyone (Cons And Libs Alike) likes to keep we (the voters) polarized and angry with each other.
instead of being angry with them, for feuding too much, & not getting things done. SO, Next Year I'm voting for the person that will not feud with their neighbors, And be clear on the issues.
Also, someone who says lets band together as americans

Why do you believe your opinion is the right way?
And I really don't get excited about gay marriage, abortion, or other people's religion.
If you want me to stop expressing my opinion on government social programs, exempt me from taxes for them.

I don't have a problem with anyone thinking their way is the right way, I think my way is the right way too. I have a problem when people think that their way is the right way for everyone and that anyone it's not right for must be wrong. I have a problem with people who think their way is the ONLY way.
Does a 'bad answer' vote represent someone who believes they are 'right' and it is their 'right' to impose their will upon me?

American conservatism has grown into a cult.Everyone is out to get them and everything that's not slanted to the far right is liberally biased.
Science,truth and facts are all less important than the ideology. Everyone who distracts from the Divine path becomes an enemy and part of the evil outside world.
The few conservatives who are smart and courageous enough to make up their own mind are immediately labeled as traitors or RINO's
It's good to see more and more Americans waking up and realizing they can't take conservatism serious anymore until it rids itself of this cultist spirit

They get sucked in I guess.
It sounds typical for most people. Don't we all believe our way is the right way, at least to some extent.
Democrats have done a lot of good for the people. Sometimes it's a matter of enforcement.
Right now, they aren't doing much. They lack a backbone.

There are probably as many conservative who believe that as there are liberals.
I remember that a certain former Democrat Congressman from California, Don Edwards, who represented much of the San Jose area, was once quoted as saying, "We're absolutely right, you know." He was talking about liberals in general and their view of what government should and should not do.
~~~~
And I am also talking about gay marriage, abortion, and religion and I am still talking about how liberals believe that THEIR views on those topics are embedded in the U.S. Constitution and are undebatable with conservatives. When it comes to the question of whether or not gay marriage, abortion, and a separation of church and state are guaranteed by the Constitution, liberals are completely stubborn and non-open-minded. In their view, those topics are not open for debate with conservatives. In the view of liberals, those topics are already settled law!
