If you're from Michigan and a 15 year old and a 17 year old kiss.. is that considered rape on the 17 year old's part? What if the 15 year old gave consent, what if they did things but not sex? Could the 17 year old get in trouble? Please let me know, what is considered illegal as in minor sexual acts...etc.. I know that a 16 year old is the legal age for sex, but a 17 year old is still a minor, so would anything be considered illegal? PLease give me lots of details on these questions +more! thank you..

It is a very gray area of law, very much dependent on the minds of the police and prosecutors. Also on the mind and power of the girls parents.

Some people have had their lives ruined, but for most it never becomes a problem.

Well first off, the legal age for consent is 18. So you have another 3 years to go.
Kissing isn't anything, as both parties are minors. But neither one can consent to sex.

Yes, the 17 year old could get into trouble. Did you not just hear on the news about that kid who just got released from prison after 10 years for having consenual s"x with a 15 year old. Yes, they said it was a cruel punishment, but with the scary thought that you might get into trouble for doing it I would not suggest it.

whe i was 16 my boyfrind was 18 and we did more than kiss.. hahah i think there is a 2 year law.. unless your parents are really strict and they wanna be douches about it.. i dont think the 17 year old would get in trouble.. and its not rape for kissing.. its simply a kiss. rape would be sex. i would probally stay away from the sex just in case.

Can't be concidered rape until one of the two turns 18, then its rape.

check your state's website for laws/statutes. it's all there. if you have any questions that the laws don't seem to answer, call the prosecutor's office and someone there might be nice enough to help. be sure to explain that it's for research purposes, otherwise, they will want to know if you are calling to press charges.
