China is doing the same thing with it's economic grow that America has done for years. America is just now opening it's eyes! Maybe the best thing America can do is help China with experience and not be critical!

"If we execute murderers and there is in fact no deterrent effect, we have killed a bunch of murderers. If we fail to execute murderers, and doing so would in fact have deterred other murders, we have allowed the killing of a bunch of innocent victims. I would much rather risk the former. This, to me, is not a tough call."

if that's not unconstitutional, i don't know what is.

even the world net daily describes the act as giving him "near dictatorial powers" in the event of a national catastrophe.
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55824
to sum it up, if some major event occured, the president would be allowed to label it a national catastrophe. if the election were near, the elections would be scrapped, and bush would continue to be president. congress would also be scrapped, bush and a few others would have complete power. also take note how the president is the only one who can declare the event a national catastrophe.

not only that, but if the constitution is scrapped, whose to say bush won't also take away all of our rights, maybe even declare martial law? who knows, maybe he'll even use wiretaps to root out those deemed unloyal. sorry if i sound paranoid, i'm just brainstorming

i really don't think this is a partisan issue, it's unconstitutional no matter what way you look at it.

They simply say "I have an extra $XX per month". Factor in the devalued dollar and the interest on US debt, then you really lose far more than you gain. Too bad neo-cons can't see past the smoke and mirrors.

Is there something I am missing here?

Who support Bush ? The "christian right"

What is their history besides burning people alive and advovating for the whipping of mentally ill slaves who wanted to run away ?

What have this love group of Jesus got in mind for us next other than the blind suport of Bush who is actually likely to bring an end to mankind

But don't worry - this brings the magical jesus back and so you see if you ignore the conflict of interest and the need for meds the christian support of Bush makes sense - to some

But other than Bush what have they in mind for mankind next ?

I found this in a local newspaper. I didn't know this kind of thing ever happened. Am I missing something or is deportation, even prosecution for being illegal, not so common? This isn't very detailed. Can anyone point me to more information about what this is all about?

OMAHA - United States Attorney Joe W. Stecher announced the federal Grand Jury for the District of Nebraska returned an unsealed indictments charging Ernesto Nava-Irra, 28, of Lexington, with illegal reentry into the United States on or before Oct. 2, after deportation or removal. The maximum possible penalty if convicted, includes imprisonment of ten years, a $250,000 fine, three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment.
Indictments are documents containing mere accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The main arguements are 1) It is not just becuase people will not get their due because they will be getting a lesser sentence for a crime they may have or may not have commited.
and
2) It is just becuase without it, US courts can not give a trial to everyone and the system will be so backed up that nothing will ever get done. People have a right to a quick and speedy trial and it is justice to allow people to have their freedom of choice for a full out trial or not.
