Getting rid of Saddam has certainly turned out to be extremely expensive for the American taxpayer.
That’s assuming that you believe any of the Bush administration’s stated reasons for invading Iraq. I don’t.

You clowns seem to neglect previous administrations efforts after Saddam. Bombing the heck out of Sudan & Afghanistan?
Can we thank them as well? Likely not as you profess this enlightenment keeping history buried in the dark. Like hanging out in closets. Some of you I just wonder about. Still single, I see why and ... what debate is this anyway?
Explain to me where the 2.3 trillion went missing as Bush took office.??.. Gonzales was investigating it and Rummy had no time to bury the cash so what is it? The same dude was CEO for Systems Planning Corporation... 1987- 2001. Linked to the Strategic Defense Initiaive ... Star Wars? Then Comptroller Pentagon? 2001 Dov Zakheim. Same days Clinton was selling weapons to China, he was working SPC.
Google it. You know I have the links. Thank you.
edit: yo' AZ look at who got US into the China mess to begin with? I swear , you are old enough to have had some lessons in history!! But I appreciate the entertainment :)

Yeah, but he's not worth that to the US...
He's worth that to Communist CHINA, and THAT'S what we need to thank Bush for, because that's who we have to pay BACK for this travesty (for a war which wasn't supposed to cost the US taxpayer ANYTHING).
I suggest, until Republicans repay the United States the money they've squandered the last 6 years, they don't get to be elected to any position more demanding than City Dog Catcher. And no, sorry we don't take checks from Republicans. Cash only please.
Our grandchildren need a future which doesn't include enforced servitude to China to pay off Bush's bad debts.

That is not that much money when you put it in scope.
Medicare is going to cost us around seven to ten times that much in the same time period. Just take a look at the cost projections and do the math yourself.

And how do you figure that? What's the war costs got to do with Saddam's worth or lack thereof?

War has always been good to people that are profiting from it... it's "we the people" paying the bills that get screwed.

My post to Jayo88 a few minutes ago...same to you...Freedom doesn't have a price tag to it.... There has been a huge Historical change in Iraq in the last four year that we have been there. My son was there spanning his two years over 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. What he saw was amazing. A sadistic dictator and his regime overthrown, an oppressed society set free, a new government freely elected first time ever there by its people, new schools, new libraries, new hospitals, new infrastructure (water, sewer, electric and so on), open air markets came back, there is even a night life in the city of Mosul until midnight, there New army being trained, a new police force being trained, their oil industry getting back on track, as well as their farming sector. So much, but so little in the eyes of people like you.
You come from a fast food society, a fix it fast up bringing, when the "world:" doesn't work like that. All you see is what CNN and the liberals tell you or show you, and that is death and distruction. How soon you forget how long the world war tooks (longer) and how soon you forget how long the reconstruction took of those country's (longer), how soon you forget that the battle of Iwo Jima killed 7,000 Marines and 30,000 japanese in 30 days! How soon you forget that the recostruction of Japanes took 10 years. How soon you forget that the battle of Stalingrad killed some 3-4 MILLION soldiers and civilians both from Germany and Russia, how soon you forget that the reconstruction of Russia and Germany took decades, how soon you forget that in one battle in Korea that Chinese lost 17,000 troops in less than 15 minutes trying to overrun an artillery unit, and reconstruction is still taking place in North Korea, where people starve to feed their war machine!
Over 4.5 million people have clean drinking water and electricity for the first time ever in Iraq.
* Over 400,000 kids have up to date immunizations.
* Over 1500 schools have been renovated and ridded of the weapons that were stored there so education can occur.
* The port of Uhm Qasar was renovated so grain can be off loaded from ships faster.
* School attendance is up 80% from levels before the war.
* The country had it's first 2 billion barrel export of oil last August, considering that Iran Imports most of theirs, this is great.
* The country now receives 2 times the electrical power it did before the war.
* 100% of the hospitals are open and fully staffed compared to 35% before the war.
* Elections are taking place in every major city and city councils are in place.
* Sewer and water lines are installed in every major city.
* Over 60,000 police are patrolling the streets.
* Over 100,000 Iraqi civil defense police are securing the country.
* Over 80,000 Iraqi soldiers are patrolling the streets side by side with US soldiers.
* Over 400,000 people have telephones for the first time ever.
* Students are taught field sanitation and hand washing techniques to prevent the spread of germs.
Girls are allowed to attend school for the first time ever in Iraq.
* Text books that don't mention Saddam are in the schools for the first time in 30 years.
There is a newly elected government
There are only two provinces in the entire country that have major insurgent problems, Baghdad and Al-Anbar, the rest secured.
I suggest that you get off the band wagon and start thinking for yourself, or go back to your kool-aide and quit bothering the rest of us!

Chi Guy..I'm sure you're clever enough to realize we're not still fighting Saddam... that mission was accomplished a long time ago.
The war on terror, specifically Al Quaeda, has chosen to take us on in Iraq rather than our restaurants, subways, bus stations, schools, water supplies and airports.
It's a completely different war....One we have been fighting for years, and will continue to fight for many years to come.
