Please, do us a favor and just pick the country you want to be associated with. If you don't like the U.S., renounce it, dual citizenship seems rather crazy to me. It's like you want to reap the benefits of both countries and not have pay any cost in the form of loyalty to either.

You would be much safer in many parts of the world with a Canadian passport. If you are travelling in the Netherlands, you will get the BEST treatment--gee, the war was a long time ago, and they STILL remember the Canadian troops....
In some parts of Germany, you will find hostility toward US citizens, but Canucks are well received....
Apply for you passport ASAP!

Canadian. If you are traveling it is safer with a Canadian passport. Because Canada hasn't gotten itself involved in war recently. A lot of people have prejudice against Americans.

If you travel to and/or from the United States you have no choice but to use your American passport. An American cannot enter nor exit the country on another nation's passport.

Hi,
i have two friends one American and one Canadian. My American friend gets unfriendly attitudes wherever she goes because of America's foreign policies. The Canadian one never faced a problem at any border, in fact she was very welcome everywhere she went. I would really recommend using the Canadian Passport. U.S foreign policies have ruined the image of all Americans I am afraid

Depending on where you are planning to go, it might be advantageous to travel as a Canadian since the US is held in such low esteem in so much of the world; not the fault of individual Americans like you, that's for sure, but nonetheless a reality. US Government policies around the world are not seen as positive and, unfortunately, reaction to them is often aimed at the least responsible. Remember how poor Miss USA was booed in Mexico City even though she, herself, isn't to blame for GWB's policies.
The obvious advantage, of course, if you return to a US port of entry, is that you will get back into the US much more easily on a US passport than on a Canadian one.

There's no benefit being a Canadian here in Mexico. The Mexicans have a lower opinion of Canadians then Yanks, they are considered tightwads here.

Terrorists sometimes check passports and kill the Americans first.
