How can America criticize China for environmental abuses?

China is doing the same thing with it's economic grow that America has done for years. America is just now opening it's eyes! Maybe the best thing America can do is help China with experience and not be critical!

Well, although for many, many years, America was considered the world's worst polluter, China's pollution problems were behind a "Bamboo curtain", so little of China's problems with poisoning their own country were made available to western cultures.

It wasn't until China opened up trade with the west, that we as Americans started seeing deporable working conditions and living environments, almost ALL of China's major waterways were so heavily polluted, there are some river basin ecosystems which may NEVER recover.

Luckily, enough Americans still have enough of a conscience to demand reductions in China's manufacturing pollutants, and are willing to enforce such demands with boycotts if need be, and China has made very postiive strides in improving both worker and living conditions in China.
The only thing China has in its favor is it has all its worst polluting industries located in one area, so the rest of the China, while still horribly polluted, is NOTHING compared to the environmental concerns of China's industrial areas.

Considering China's population, the US uses 5 times more oil.

This will change in 10-15 years though.

China is very well aware of its huge pollution problems and is actively doing something about it and seeking outside help and expertise to help them.

Because they aren't even making an effort to keep it clean.... find some other country to vent your hate on, or if you really feel that way... immigrate.
