I am going to be "blowing out" sprinkler systems in the neighborhood and I want to create a waiver that says I am not responsible if a pipe freezes during the winter or anything else happening to it. I live in Illinois, please include VERY DETAILED responses including state laws if necessary. PLEASE responses only from those who are in the legal field or who have had experience creating legal waivers before.

agreements it has made with the coalition forces. Does this mean that the war will then be Nancy Pelosi's war? She appears to be taking control of it from the CiC! Doesn't this kind of put the responsibility of any deaths in her lap? Sounds like that is what SHOULD happen since she is making the decisions here!

before 9/11 even happened. How can the neocons say that their massive, illegal surveillance of domestic communication is "to protect America from the terrorists" when 9/11 didn't even happen yet? It's well documented that in the months leading up to 9/11, bush brushed off the issue of terrorism. He all but ignored the urgent warnings from foreign intelligence agencies of the impending attack. He never called even one high-level meeting on the subject of terrorism.

The Soviet KGB spied on its own citizens, not to protect the country from outside threats, but to protect the the corrupt ruling class from internal challenges that came from the country's own citizens. We all know about cheney's desire to maintain a "permanent republican majority." Did the neocons want to spy on patriotic Americans in order to protect their power base from the American people? Why else would they want to gain such an illicit advantage over the citizens of America?

People are allowed and should question the President and the government and they ARE allowed to have their own opinion and disagree with the President, fight back and protest if they think this will better their country. Why are the Conservatives trying to stifle dissent against the government?

Here it is, from Yahoos front page, in black and white. Putin wants their money and for no other reason, doesnt care if Iran has nukes:

"The Russian president underlined his disagreements with Washington last week, saying he saw no "objective data" to prove Western claims that Iran is trying to construct nuclear weapons.

Russia, which is building Iran's first nuclear power plant, has resisted the push by the U.S. and its allies for stronger U.N. sanctions against Tehran and strongly warned Washington against using force."

Its pretty obvious that Russia is using Iran as a MAJOR playing card against the US, and is as much as telling the world: We, Russia, are financing the end of the USA, by helping Iran build their nuclear weapons.

I get so freaking upset. Why is it a while back (US) flexes her muscles by practicing little war ship games off the iranian coast, yet russia flys there planes dangerously close to our zones to mock us yet we flake it off. What gets me so upset is that putin. Id like to kill that idiot. Anyways what is your thought on our actions as a country and if it is not your country what is your thought on this issue ?

You see 70 year old people crashing into buildings, causing accidents...generally making our streets unsafe. Despite this- why doesn't the US institute a mandatory driving test for adults over the age of 65?

It amazes me how careless Americans can be with their own people. Health care for most Americans even those with some health care coverage sucks. And yet, we allow Conservative-created fear about "communism" and "socialism" and "long lines"cloud the fact millions of Americans don't have health coverage. Of course we have shorter wait times than other countries---45 million people aren't in line. You know where they are---in the emergency room b/c they could afford checkups and meds. We can't even get coverage for all kids!!!!

About 8 years ago, a friend bought a new 9mm handgun, which he stored at his mom's North Carolina house with some of his other things. For some reason, his elderly mother simply didn't want a gun in the house, so she sold it to a former coworker without my friend's knowledge. He only discovered this while going through his things this year. Unfortunately, it was so long ago, she mother doesn't remember who she sold it to.

What should the guy do about this? He can't report it stolen, because if the gun should ever be used in a crime, or otherwise come into the hands of the police, the buyer would likely say my friend's mom sold it to him - getting her in trouble. Also, the buyer would likely get in trouble for possession of 'stolen' property.

Basically, my friend just wants to get the gun's record updated to show that he no longer owns it, without getting himself, his mom or the buyer in legal trouble for an honest mistake by an old woman.

Any ideas on how to handle this?

I've read some of the definitions of patriotism that some of the contributers have provided, including loving your country, and trying to do good for it. My question is, who was the greater patriot; Adolf Hitler, or Claus von Stauffenberg? Both could be considered patriots, according to some of the opinions I've read.

By the way, the war ended a couple of years ago in victory--The leader taken down and the army demolished. The troops are now there to help a fledgling democracy with security against terrorists until they can take care of themselves.

Some of you spend too much time on message boards or listening to talk radio, and you buy all that rhetoric. Iraq will soon be a great place to live. The troops are no longer in danger. The Iraq war is winding down. The rest of the middle east sees what is happening in Iraq and will soon have total freedom like Iraq. The middle east loves the USA.

I was recently laid off from my job and have already filed for unemployment. I have always worked a full 40 hour work week. At the same time I am also enrolled full time in college taking 12 credits. Several people have told me that since I am also enrolled in school that I won't be able to collect. This doesn't seem fair at all since I have always worked full time as well. Does anyone know the rules regarding this situation? Any help is appreciated.

by signing some kind of legal document at teh court house or something. Even if the person s an adult. Basically it is some psycho parents of a friend of mine...she does not have problem...got in trouble in the past but they will not let her live it down. They told her they were going to send her to rehab...they were gonna go to the court house or something. I didn't think they could do something like that to an adult against their will.....or can they?
