Stevie Wonder could see that the resolution was done strictly for political gain. If they can get Turkey to withdraw it's support for the war on terror, the democrat goal of defeat for the US in the war on terror could become a reality, or at least more likely. It's all in hopes of increasing their chances of winning the election next year. It is worse than shameful.

No... Armenian groups have been courting US pols since before the Reagan era to get their voices heard. It has actually taken this long to make it to the floor.

Dems and the GOP play no role in the presentation of this bill at all.

yes. the democrats can't or won't undermine the war directly, so they try a more indirect approach of pissing off turkey, hoping they will cut logistal aid to the u.s., which uses turkey as a conduit for shipping supplies to u.s. bases in iraq and afghanistan. if the turks react the way the democrats hope, our military in the region will face a seriers of new and incovenient problems to deal with, in addition to the already difficult tasks at hand.

No because the deciding votes were cast by Republicans. The vote was 27 to 21 and 8 Republicans voted yes.

That is true. They don't want to go on record as voting against the war or be seen as not supporting the troops so they are trying the back door to agitate our allies.
