I am an owner in a townhome complex. One of the nieghbors has had up to 3 cars around his garage taking up space of the other owners. They have been seen installing radios or fixing them till 9pm. Other neighbors are complaining and have asked them to stop. They say it is their right. Can anyone tell me if there is anything legally we can do to get them to mover their business? Or is it even legal? If there is a website I can review I would love to know it. Thanks

I just gave my 2 week notice today. Not even before the day is over...I was informed that they already found a replacement and she will be starting Monday. However, they will only need me to work for 1 more week instead of two weeks.

Is it fair for them to let me go early? Also, as an employee of the company, by law do they have to pay me for the two weeks if they are letting me early?

Here is the catch: I am getting paid under the table. I know it's stupid and I shouldn't have done that, but at that time it was an offer that I couldn't refuse. Besides, they preferred it that way. I was getting paid as a regular employee but when I put my two week notice a while back they asked me to stay and offered to pay me under the table and all this crap!

I just feel that even though technically I am "not an employee with the company". I get paid under the table and no, they don't 1099 me. I want to go into my boss's office and tell him that I have as much rights as a regular employee.

I recently hung (with great pride) my UCLA flag from my window in my apartment. Now the apartment manager is telling me I cant have it hanging. I dont see why not if its not controversial in any way. Its hanging from the inside of my window and it is not "cluttering" or damaging the appearance of the unit. Can they make me put it down just because they want me to?

I don't think it does, but seeing white people say "Be Legal or Get Out" Makes it seem a bit strange.

Whereas, A hispanic person like myself can say that and it be fine.

Can you adjudge this logic? It's an answer to a question I asked concerning the importance of industrial and post-industrial modernism in the Americas.

"Not too long ago, the European invaded North America, kidnapping Africans from their homelands forcing slavery by torture and murder, while conducting near genocide on the Native Americans and then pushing the Mexicans South and then created their own Mexican Border, yes you the white American are the illegal, the entire South was once Mexico until hundreds of thousands of Mexican paid the price of being slaughtered, from the North of Canada to the tip of South America for tens of thousands of years the entire continent was brown skin, get used to it."

Pre-Rooseveltian Anti-Trust Legislation many of the larger companies had private "enforcers" Pinkerton arose from that very origin. Government asserted its power to regulate business and business has been trying to regain the upper hand ever since. Raygun was the first real proponent of "privatization" but the bushies are going all the way to corporate Fascism. Does no one remember that Nazism would have been just another bunch of street thugs without the support of the upper class industrialists Foreign(Ford et al) and Domestic(IG Farben, VW, Krupp et al)

I lent my car to a friend who I thought had a license. In fact she lied to me saying she did have a license. She gets pulled over in Valencia, Ca. for speeding. Turns out she has no license and they arrest her & impound my car. They place a 30 day hold on my car. The LASD said the only way to get the hold off early is if the person who was driving the vehicle was to get a license & show them (LASD). I can't get in contact with the driver now. Because of her my car has a hold on it even though its not even hers. I understand the car getting impounded but not the 30 day hold. I guess the only crime was driving with out a license.

And these bottom feeders don't have quotas ?

The Los Angeles County public defender's office has opened an investigation into arrests made by sheriff's deputies as part of an organized competition to see who could book the most suspects in a day.

Public Defender Michael P. Judge said Thursday his office will examine all arrests made on Aug. 15, the day of one of the contests that leaders said were meant to boost morale and motivate deputies.

"Our contention is that the activities of the deputies may not have been prompted by what they saw but rather by the pressure of producing greater arrest numbers for the competition," Judge said.

The competition coming under investigation was outlined in an internal Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department e-mail and called "Operation Any Booking." The object was to see who could arrest the most people in a 24-hour period.

Contests were also held to see who could impound the most cars and who could question the most gang members.
